2009 w/Navigation?

I had a 2008 135i with the premium audio. I was VERY happy with the clarity, volume output and overall sound. I traded the car for a VW CC with Dynaudio back in the summer. The Dynaudio system is perhaps slightly better overall than the BMW w/premium audio so I might be spoiled at this point.

I really want another 135i because I am really missing the driving experience. I started looking at various used 2008-2009 135i's. Found a 2009 yesterday with what seems to be the base audio system and no navigation, audio was HORRIBLE. If I go with a 2009 with Navigation is this tied to an upgraded audio system by default or is it possible to have navigation and still have to terrible (in my opinion) base audio system?

I have an 09' with the stock stereo system (not the Harmon Kardon option) and the iDrive/Navigation. I don't think you get upgraded audio along with navigation since mine does not have the premium audio. I don't think it sounds bad frankly, its actually a pretty damn good system for a non-premium. Honestly if its really a problem just drop in a small sub to make up for the lack of bass. The stock system comes with tweeters already by the mirrors. And I had an Audi S4 with the bose premium system before my 135i.

It isn't even just the bass, the overall sound quality was so tinny I don't know if I could deal with it and I don't feel I am being very critical here.

When I bought my '08 with the premium audio I had researched the differences between the two and the general consensus was that the sound quality difference was negligible. I think some would argue that the difference was huge which is what I believed then and again now.

I realize that is the way to go. The problem is when you are buying a used car from a dealer (I have a trade in) they will have no idea if it has the premium audio. There is no external indicator unless they have the window sticker which most of the time is missing.

Does BMW have a website/link that allows me to enter the vin# and it produces the vehicles window sticker? You can do this with new Ford vin#'s.
