? for the tire guys
Does anyone know the difference between the Dunlop zII's and the star specs? I bought the older Zll's while on clearance in March and my rears are near the wear markers. Would there be a problem putting Star specs on the rear and leaving the fronts alone? My budget is low thanks to the price of oil for whatever reason, I have my opinions but that's another conversation.

Star spec have more silicone in them and are grippier over a broader temperature range. So, better when cold, especially in the wet.
Learned this the hard way running non-star spec in a Chump Car race in cold/wet weather. We won the "spin cycle" award for most spins in a race. |

I guess my next question would be, will they be okay in a Houston winter? It rarely gets to freezing but does a few times a year and never gets colder than that.

Houston winters are so mild. I run PSS all year. Don't cheap out on tires… You will regret it. Totally not worth the $50-100 you'll save on a pair.
