Streek Parking for my 1?

Hey fellas, I may be moving into Philly soon for a new job and I hadn't thought much about parking until now. I often see nice cars when wandering around the city, how do these folks manage keep their cars in good condition despite not having a garage and/or also having a higher risk of vandalism?

when i first moved to brooklyn in 2007 i had a MK1 Audi TT 225 coupe quattro as my daily driver....i decided to street park it for the first 1.5 years i lived here....NEVER AGAIN. it was vandalized...hit by a garbage truck, dented, dirty.....it's not worth it. Spend a couple hundred bucks and rent a garage spot. totally worth it.

Yeah, sucks. My family's cars were never safe in the narrow streets of Brooklyn.

I'd say it 100% depends on where you live in philly as well.

I've street parked my car in brooklyn for the past 1.5 years.

The first year, I lived in bushwick, sketchy neighborhood, witnessed a gunshot victim bleed out by my front door, my car was the only BMW, luxury vehicle etc... needless to say I walked out to my car daily looking for broken glass on the floor... yet my car was NEVER touched there, spotless for the whole year.

The past six months I've lived in williamsburg, much nicer neighborhood... and I've had issues. People leaning on my car, people parking like shit giving me small marks, although I can park my car right outside my front door and not worry about it getting stolen..

Looking back, you won't know until you pull it off. I get my car detailed whenever I have the spare money saved up and I don't worry about it, she looks pretty and I'm happy. If you have the money for a parking spot, do it.

people don't give a sh*t. get a garage spot, man...it's not very expensive. around $200 for an indoor heated spot.

btw wheels get stolen ALL the time in Wburg....have seen tons of cars on bricks over the past 7 years i've lived here.

It is pretty horrible, can't believe the difference coming from a sketchy area. There is a garage on my block actually, I'll have to look into it but parking is out of my budget for the next month atleast. Just getting on my feet now after graduating college.
