All salesmen blow smoke...

Why do people always have to "have it now!"? I dont pay sticker for cars, I'll be waiting, and I'm ok with that...

LOL,
Just had a second dealer send me the PDF of the brochure. I have an overabundance of them. Still having trouble posting it. :iono: I repeat my first offer that if anyone is interested in having this brochure, e-mail me at Endor_82@hotmail.com with the subject of "135i Brochure". I'd be happy to send it, but will be out for the day, so I will get it to you this evening at the earliest.

Correct. Here is more T-cotta... For better or worse, it's orangey, like a baseball glove perhaps. I like it.

Edit: In real life it's not quite as orange (I only saw the pics after they got posted). It is very similar to the Audi TT baseball glove option, similar (but less orange) to an Infinity FX color, - just like your average flower pot.

Actually, BMW includes a 68kg driver, 7lg luggage and 90% fuel load in their weight spec. So deduct some 200lbs (approx) to get the "wet" US-spec weight as other manufacturers (Subaru and Mitsubishi included).

It's part of the reason why in many car comparisons BMWs seem to fare well in acceleration contests, why "german" horses seem to be stronger than their Japanese counterparts.

ADC - since you've seen it in real life, how does it compare with the color swatch in the brochure? The brochure terra color looks nothing like these pictures, imo. thnx.

I'm dissapointed with the leatherette options. I was hoping for at least tan and black. I'll have to see the taupe in person--it looks grey on my PC.

Has anyone seen taupe in person?

I'd assume that "Terracotta" is another typo, and that BMW NA is probably offering Terra leather here.

Terracotta hasn't been nearly as successful on the X3, as Terra has been on the E90/92. I don't see why they'd offer a color that people are less likely to pick in lieu of a very popular color. That, and the "Terracotta" swatch shown in the brochoure is practically identical in hue to the Terra leather in the E9X.

thanks for posting this.

also noted:

LL to get lumbar support must get premium package which includes leather ($$)

sirius radio ll dealer installed. I had to wait months for it to be available as accessory on M coupe. Hope it is available sooner for this model;

limited wheel choice. no W or M spoke available even as option. imo stock ones are bland

as noted nothing in blue for interior to accompany 2 blue exterior choices; imo large omission; a cloth/leather blue black would have been nice

i wouldn't be surprised. my first impression of this brochure has been "half-assed rush." but it's something to talk about.

In real life, it IS as orangey as those pics. I had an X3 loaner for almost a week with terracotta interior, and I felt like I was being consumed by the great pumpkin from Charlie Brown fame.

Also, it's absolutely nothing like the M3 color 'cinnamon', no more than terra is related to terracotta.

While it is true that the US curb weight does not include the driver and the luggage, it does include a full tank of gas.

The number to subtract from BMW unladen weight is therefore around 150lbs, rather than 200lbs.

That is correct. 3372-150=3222lb.

In the brochure, it's listed as terracotta, but the swatch looks like terra. I'm hoping it's yet another typo in a preliminary product brochure.
