135i meets the garage mate, 335ic

Two very different cars that happen to have the same engine.

The 335 has step and is loaded to the gills, 135 is manual with little more than ZSP and CA. Enjoy.

nice... since you own both it would be nice to see a comparison review or pro/con between the two.

Well to cut to the chase the 335ic is a porker.

The 335i has a more muscular exhaust tone and is really a luxury cruiser on steroids. The steptronic is a very smooth, fun transmission that really suits what the E93 335i is: a powerful, heavy cabriolet.

The 135i has sharper steering (feels a lot like my old E36 M3) and has a better seating position. It is no doubt faster. The lighter weight makes a tremendous difference.

I'm short on time today, but might write a better comparison in the coming weeks.

Scenic pictures later, thought people might like to see the two models side-by-side.

That is a great way to describe the 1er--no matter what the numbers say, bc the 135 and 335 have very similar performance numbers, the E82 just feels faster....nice cars for the garage.

I just don't get it when anyone says the 1 is ugly...? I absolutely love the way it looks in any color... not to bash the 3 series but it is just so much more the kind of car I wanted...I love it...

Most of the press/autoshow photos of the car were the unglamorous "head-on" shot that fails to show the great lines. It's not the easiest car to photograph, but it is very easy to fall in love with in person.

I have to say I like how the 335 looks from the front. It looks lower and meaner than the 135i with its narrower lights and its more rounded front. However, I love the rear end of the 135i with its short rear overhang and bobtail. Both great looking cars though.

Man I use to think the 335i shitted on the 135i on the looks department, but man I've grown on the 135i and thinks it looks just as nice.

Easy there, "old lady" is referring to my mother.

If it were a sunny Sunday afternoon and I felt like taking the long road into town and grabbing a bite to eat with a friend I would hop in the 3 without a question. The car is sexy and smooth, and the transmission is involving when you want it to be. I haven't driven the 3 back-to-back with the 1 because the weather has been full of snowflakes and rain, but I'm sure the butt-dyno will show the 1 to be more performance orientated (duh!).

The 1 is equally sexy and smooth, but more of a "I want to be tossed around that corner like a bad girl" sexy.
