Have only seen one other 135i on the road
Have been in California for a month now and have only seen one other 1 series. It was a convertible driven by a woman who seemed to care less that there was another 1 in front of her. Where are you guys? Switching subjects...where are all of the 2002s? Only saw one since I have been here.

I dont know why but the majority of the 1's I have seen are driven by older women, I would guess 45-55+. Kind of strange

Saw a vert 128 today
OK, since last posting, I saw a convertible 128i today on my way to work. This was driven by a young Asian guy but again, no interest in the fact that another 1 series was right next to him. Jeez, what is wrong with these people? Just another 1 sighting made my day.

I've actually seen more GT-R's than 1'ers on the road.

New 1er owner
Yes I agree about 1ers being very rare in Los angeles. Just got mine yesterday and I am realizing that this is a lot of car. But an example. I have Driven from Pasadena to Glendale and today to west la and back to Pasadena - not one 1 series did I see. I've never own such a rare care and its suprising in a good way. But when you do see one it's like a cult and usually there may be waving or a honk. Looking fwd to learning about this eclectic subset in the middle of so cal car culture.

thats because are cars are so fast and handle so well. Everyone just sees a blur before realizing that its even a 1. You will see a lot of 1's in Arcadia area usually at like tea shop places. |

Yep...I really like how rare our cars are. Some people ask me how fast is it and I say high 11's. Lol... It's nice to know that there is not many cars on the road that can keep up with me.

There seem to be a bunch in the Bay Area . . . I usually see a couple per week. Just this morning I passed an AW 135 that seems to be street-parked in DT Palo Alto frequently and I saw an SGM 135 vert in Vacaville on Fri. Most of the drivers 'round here seem to be 30-something dudes. Car still seems to be rare enough to get comments, though (although about half the comments I get are about why I'd put an In-N-Out sticker on my ride . . .)

I guess fit the demographic above: 30-something dude. I think 1's are more common in and around SF because it is more like a European city than most other American cities. The smaller size is considered a plus over the 3er, not a minus. |
