June 2005 E90 Sales Figures (U.S.)
"Total 3 Series sales were flat when compared to last June. Sales of the new E90 3 Series were in high gear as sales of the new 325i and 330i sedans represented over two-thirds of this month’s sales figure.
For comparison, Mercedes Benz sold only 4,605 C Class units this month, down 21.3% from the 5,851 units sold last June. YTD sales of the C Class were down 22.0% for the first half of 2005." |

The AP report that hit all the major news wires today:
BMW U.S. Sales Fall 7 Percent in June 07.01.2005, 01:59 PM BMW AG said Friday that its U.S. sales fell 7 percent in June, though German automaker attributed much of the drop to inventory shortages. The company sold 26,999 vehicles last month, down from 27,909 in June 2004. All percentages are adjusted to account for one extra selling day this June. Sales declined 10 percent for the core BMW brand to 23,392 vehicles from 25,013 a year ago. BMW said demand for its new 3-series has been "robust" but that inventory remains low. BMW said it is in the process of building production capacity. Sport utility sales dropped 21.8 percent to 5,936 units while car sales fell 5.2 percent to 17,456 units. The BMW decline offset higher sales of Mini-brand vehicles, which rose 19.8 percent to 3,607 cars. Bayerische Motoren Werke AG is based in Munich. So far this year, the company's vehicle sales are up about 1.5 percent. |
