new digital coolingmist water/meth injection kits for the 135I

For those of you that do not know us, we are coolingmist (Water Injection, Methanol Injection, Alcohol Injection Systems | Coolingmist). We have been a leading manufacturer of water/meth injection kits since 2004. We would like to have this thread to discuss any application questions or technical questions concerning our products.
Our store phone # is 888-MORE-HPW or 888-667-3479
We can be emailed at info@coolingmist.com. We accept paypal and credit/Debit on line and credit card/debit card over the phone.

Water/Methanol injection is well known to reduce/prevent detonation as well as increase horsepower and even make your vehicle more efficient at the pump. The more modifications you have the more power you will make..but what sets methanol/water injection apart is the safety factor. Your vehicle will actually have a safer tune with the injection system!
We designed our kits to be the most flexible using a modular type system as well as cost effective for the customer. I have a list and details of a few of our kits below.
This is alot of info, ask any questions about our kits or how they can work for you.
all of our CMGS kits are here:
Water Injection, Methanol Injection, Alcohol Injection Systems | Coolingmist
All of our VC2 kits are here:
Water Injection, Methanol Injection, Alcohol Injection Systems | Coolingmist

Our pumps for these kits are high presure PSI bypass pumps for the ultimate in atomization.
NEW STATE OF THE ART PROGRESSIVE CONTROLLERS
There is nothing quite like it on the market. New for 2009 We have 2 versions CMGS (coolingmist gauge system) and VC-II (Vari-Cool II). These represent the 2nd generation of our Vari-Cool Controller which was originally released in 2005. These are built on an entirely new platform with the latest generatio processors for the most accurate metering. The only difference between these controllers is the enclosure. One is a 52 MM gauge, the other is a 3.5 X 3.5 inch traditional mount controller. Pictures of the controllers are below.
Both the CMGS and VC2 controllers inject progressivly. You can inject based on boost, or voltage or a combination of both. You have the ability to change the curve, set the min/max dutycycle, display boost or voltage or the dutycycle of the pump. you dont need any computer to configure these just adjust through the menu. There is a 2 bar map sensor built in. These function as a boost display gauge if you wish and also have a flow meter option if you wish to see flow.
Vari-Cool II (VC2). Options include RED 3 digit display or Blue 3 digit display. the VC2 is the square controller on the top.

CMGS options include silver or black bezel and red or blue 3 digit display. the CMGS is the gauge controller on the bottom

Our kit options include underhood version or all in one trunkmount options.

varicool II

Our new CMGS-FS BMW kit has been released. Its specific to your vehicle and has great install instructions all of the fittings/wire/hose/connectors and so forth that you need for your install.
This system does the following:
1) Variable Control Injection based on Boost. Instructions on how to set up the injection are included.
2) Turbine Flow Sensor failsafe. You set the flow window low and high, the injection threshold (for example the boost, maf or dutycyle threshold) and set the failsafe wire to Normally Open (its normally closed by default). If you dont need to use teh failsafe, you can atleast know whats going on!
3) All in one CMGS. CMGS will display boost, display flow, progressively inject and failsafe. You will see all the boost/flow/status of failsafe at a glance. The flow displays on the 10 bars across the top. By default each bar is 50 CC/M. You can change the default to 100 CC/M or 200 CC/M for higher flow applications.

DIAGRAM:

FEATURES:
1) SIMPLE. The simple nature of the CMGS makes it easy to install compared to our competitors. Due to the fact the CMGS failsafe output wire can be made normally closed or normally open you dont need a relay which makes the failsafe wiring a piece of cake. You can save alot of money by installing our kit yourself.
2) CLEAN. The fact that the CMGS is a boost gauge and allows you to remove your boost gauge and run this in place of it makes the intall easy and clean.
3) AFFORDABLE. Designed to be simple and affordable. Lets look at it this way. With some other systems on the market you have to decide if you want a MAF based kit or a boost based kit, (ours can do either or both) then you need to buy the failsafe, then you need to buy the flow gauge if you want to monitor. You likely have a boost gauge in your car or need one. This single unit is all in one. It makes it easy to mount, easy to install and simple.
Here is the setup guide. I think this is one of the most complete setup guides out there and makes this a true 135I/335I specific kit.
CMGS SETUP GUIDE RIGHT CLICK SAVE AS
Here is a link to the product:
Coolingmist CMGS 135 I 335 I methanol injection kit

In addition to tripping your failsafe the CMGS will display error codes on the screen.
"000" your fluid is low in the tank.
"001" your flow is lower than your low threshold.
"002" your flow is higher than the high threshold.
"003" you are flowing when you should not be. This will not trip the failsafe, but it will alert you that your flowing and should not be. you will only see this if you mis wire the system or accidently ground the pump or do something to cause the pump to turn on when it should not.

Any questions about this product, how it works or what ever let us know.

CM

always appreciate it.

We have a stage 3 system that can detect when you are not flowing what you should be and can drop your boost pressure or perform some other failsafe function.

I will be posting details shortly.

questions let us know

this has always interested me, but the age old question of warranty issues arise. if the kit were taken off the vehicle before dealer service, would BMW be able to detect that meth was used on vehicle?

No, meth leaves no signs of modification except an extremely clean engine as it destroys carbon buildup...

yes and if you get the trunkmount version with the gauge its so easy to remove with no evidence of a kit. The progressive gauge controller doubles as a boost gauge so nobody will be the wiser.

Very cool, if any, what could be some risks in using the injection device/kit, say if it were to malfunction or something? Just educating myself here, thanks.

Very nice guys. These are one of the mods I didn't get to do with the STI. The only problem with removing for warranty work would be removing the lines running from the trunk mount to the engine (especially if you run under the carpet). Will you be offering different choices of lines?

Nobody is going to check under the carpet for the hose. That should not be a concern. the hose is quick connect so its easily removeable.

We can do stainless hose but it will add a bit to the cost.

Most customers inject based on boost only. The cmgs and vc2 have a built in boost sensor, so you just tee into your vacuum line!

No splices necessary. Its that easy.

is there any way to get the entire setup within the engine bay or does the tank and pump need to be in the trunk?

its a matter of space. Good luck trying to mount anything in that engine bay. If you can fit it, you can put it there I just dont see it happening without alot of work.
