19 inch ride quality vs OEM 18s?

I just picked up an 11' 135i with 261's. I am not a fan of RFTs but these Potenzas do not ride too bad. I live here in Phoenix AZ (not the best roads...lots of seams and bumps). I am considering some Alufelgen 19s and was curious how harsh of a ride to expect vs. the OEM 18 261's with RFTs.

Thanks!

The RFT are worse than the 19's IMHO

I Agree. I run 19s with Non RFT and it is noticeably lighter and less noise.

Congrats to picking up a 1er! There aren't many of us 1Addicts in Arizona, but there are a few that frequent the forums.

Almost any sport rubber that is non-RFT will ride better. The RFTs are stiff and loud, PERIOD.

I have 19's (with average rubber on them at the moment) and they still ride better (softer, quieter) than RFT 18's.

Get the 19's it'll look great and won't be any worse a ride.

Garage List
2013 BMW M3  [10.00]
2015 BMW M4  [0.00]
2013 BMW F30  [0.00]
2014 BMW F22  [0.00]
2013 BMW F06  [0.00]
You're still going to experience some feedback from the road due to the smaller sidewalls but the sidewalls of the tires are going to be much more forgiving on non-RFTs.

I definitely wouldn't say that they ride worse on 19s with non-RFTs though.

Reedonk.....any outings in AZ worth going to? The car spent the day at the Vivid Racing shop swapping out the mid/exhaust back to stock (wife couldnt handle the BUZZZZZZZ) but good god that exhaust made the car soo much quicker

Thanks to all...19 inch Alufelgens will be in its future.

19's + KW V1 coilovers were a slight improvement over stock. after adding front camber plates, it feels like stock again. lol

A dealership near my house has a promotion going on for style 199 wheels (they're 8 x 19 225/35R19 front, 9 x 19 255/30R19 rear) that came with Bridgestone (i'm assuming run flats)

Would these even fit on an e82? and would it a be a pretty crappy ride?

Nope, those are 3-series wheels and the offsets are too low for our cars.

I would be interested in an outing in Arizona also.
