19" BBS CH
Im looking to get a set of wheels for my 135i, and really like the BBS CH
Now I have done a search, and it seems that with the current offsets available they are far from a perfect fit. After speaking with the BBS distributor in Australia, he insists they will fit perfectly, all they need to do is shave the hub 5mm which they have apparently done in the past many times This would then allow the offsets to be: 19x8.5 et40 19x9.5 et45 First question, would these offsets fit with the right tyre? Second question, is it safe to shave the hub 5mm? I would assume if the distributor is saying that that the safety of the rim would not be comprimised? Thanks |

And of course this is coming from a front wheel of 19x8.5 ET45 with 235 front tires and an H&R Sport drop fender minor roll is needed.

According to my experience, ET45 will fit fine if you do not have aftermarket shocks or springs.
I have to go ET40x8.5 coz the rims are touching my koni yellows a bit. I'm running on 225 tires front.

The rear will stick out. It will rub guaranteed.
The fronts will stick out a little and will be very close to rubbing even with just a 225 front. It's not a 1 series fitment at all, but people are putting them on anyway. |

Those are aggressive offsets but as stated, many are running similar.
Machining wheels to change is offset is not uncommon. The key is how thick the base is to begin with. I'd ask that question specifically. I'm no expert and I don't even know where they are measuring but from what I've heard mentioned you'd need at least 5mm left after the machining.

Oh well, looks like the CH is not for me.
I dont mind the wheels being super flush (had 10" wide wheels on my e46 sedan in the rear) but poking out isnt for me Will have to keep looking! Don't mind the Bremmer Kraft BR05 on Tirerack, just wish they were available in 19"! |

I think we all have the same problem, trying to find 19inch wheels that fit. Advan RZ seems to fit, just costs a bit more than what I want to pay. If you are willing to pay the price of BBS then might be worth considering the Advan, provided you like it of course. I see that you are in Brisbane. You can get them from an importer in Melbourne.

Agree, it's not gonna POKE, it's gonna FLUSH. Minor Fender roll or Negative Camber may require depends on tires. I ran 225Fx8.5 and 255Rx9.5 and I don't have my fenders rolled and I rarely rub. Tell me this is Flush or Poke:

19x9.5 ET 45 rear.... doesnt poke as much as you would think... its flush.... to the point that it looks poked, well.. maybe a little poke at certain angles. to be 100% sure, I checked this morning and 3mm is poking out so an ET of 48 rear would be perfectly tucked and flush...
19x8.5 ET 45 front... as you can see... so flush that it needs a roll at least with a 235 front, 225 then I wouldn't have had to do any fender rolling. fender rolling is not as bad as they make it out to be.... as you can see this is as flush as you can get.... ET 40 would be a little poke, but you wont be able to drop it as much as me, unless you stretch the tire a little like 225 or 215 even... I'm pretty much slammed in the front... The safer way without rolling the fenders is negative camber, a little is better for handling anyway. But I wanted my wheels to look straight so I opted for a roll. My setup is not as flush as taichi's in the rear cause his setup looks tucked due to the neg camber he has. This is how your setup will look... they are 18's but same ET... and width.. It will looks right with 225 and 255. the poke is not that apparent and looks good imho. it makes the car look wider anyway.

DO IT!!!
they will not poke, they will be perfectly flush if you decide to lower the car, you will need to have the rears rolled just make sure you go w/ a 225 & 255 tires (from a brand that doesnt run wider thatn most) and you'll be ok |
