Look into ER Dual Oil Cooler.

We got pretty bad heat as well in our summer 40++ Celcius but SG would be pretty humid yeah..

The RB turbos will do fine on the stock 1M cooling systems. The only thing you should look into replacing is the intercooler.

I like the AMS, HPF and Helix designs. CP-e is good too but you don't really need the extra oil cooler with the 1M, unless your oil temps are getting near 300F somehow.

Planned for the CPe intercooler with the additional cooler .. But no reply from them till now.

Will just go with the ETS 5" intercooler .. Hope it will be just fine.

Sorry for the noob question: Would these turbos increase turbo lag? I'm gathering that if they fit in the stock housing they are of the same size so it shouldn't but I'm not very familiar with how these things work :S

Guys, be carefull ! Already with stock power, this baby is dangerous. Stock chassis is easily overwhelmed, so don't push your luck too far ...

Good move OP. Sounds like a good path given your goals. Looking forward to hearing how they do, especially with the Cobb tune.

Depends how you use the car. For sustained running under high load the cooling system is almost always the weak point of any turbo car, especially getting heat out of the head on the exhaust side. Improving the cooling is a good idea to keep a margin of safety, I'd look at running water wetter or similar at a minimum (Porsche uses one in Cup cars, standard stuff for hard usage). If you just "sprint" with the car the head and block has enough thermal mass to avoid overheating for short period.

Yes, larger turbos increase lag unless you also significantly improve the technology, the housing isn't the issue. On the other hand these are not that much bigger, and he'll reduce the lag by pulling the cats from the exhaust and likely end up back very close to stock lag when he's done, I'd guess.

The turbos aren't really significantly going to increase peak torque, which is what makes the car a handful. He'll just hold that torque further towards redline. That said, self control and good judgement will be needed.

just go to their website and buy off it. i got one and the quality is good and the fit is very tight. but it is a nice intercooler.

i bought the additional oil cooler but chose not to install it. i wasn't happy with the way it looked and the big notice "china". anyway, the oil temp in my car is quite controlled despite trackdays. just ranges between 240-265.

How tight of a fit is the CPe? Any cutting needed? One of the big reasons I am leaning towards the ETS as of right now.

very very tight! you could get away without trimming anything. i had a small file and filed down some plastic bits at the corners just to make it easier to get in -no big deal.

Are the turbos on the 1M the same as on the 135i, or are they upgraded?

None yet i was purchasing the turbos from a person who had a 335i and realized they are different. Got a dent in my trunk and decided to purchase a Slek CSL trunk for now. Then i will continue this project hopefully i will have them by early july.

Also the 1M turbos are the same as the 135i

Won't work on the 1M since we have an auxilliary radiator in the space where the second oil cooler would be fit on the left side.
