Feeler: Rear fog light enabling without switch replacement

BIMMERPOST / Classifieds
Asking Price:
None

Item Interest
Hello guys,
I found a local shop that can make the part needed to install into the OEM headlight switch to make it work for the rear fog lights functional. It would just require you to remove the switch, a little disassembly and slight modification to the switch. Of course the switch won't be illuminated on the button like the Euro version, but it will have 100% function the same as the Euro. I can post a simple DIY on how to install once I get the pics uploaded to my computer at home. I have already done this to my car and it works great.

The thing is I'm trying to establish a demand on the piece needed to do this before getting the local shop to make a bunch of them so I can share with the rest of my fellow owners that would like this function. At a fraction of the price. It seems like it would be around the $40 dollar mark if less than 10 at a time get made, maybe closer to $30 if I can get increments of 25 made. I'm not trying to get rich here by nay means, just make others happy while saving them some cash. The part being made is a perfect fitment into the OEM switch assembly and is easily removable if you want to later down the road. Really it only takes 1-2 minutes more than replacing the switch.

Please PM me if you are interested, I'll try to get the pics up this evening. It will take about a week to get the parts made, once the order is placed. Once I have about 5 people signed up, I'll place the order for 10. If I get more, I'll increase the order and get the price down. Just depends on how many people want them, and how quickly.

I know I have a Zero trader rating, I have only bought 1 thing here from another member and he did not give me a rating like I did him, despite my quick payment. I'm not sure if he is even around any more, he was parting out his car. You can check my eBay feedback though, if this deal goes through.

Also, if you guys have any questions, fire away!
Thanks for reading guys!

Interested!

Could switch be used on other light related? Example, other LED installation uses the switch. Thanks!

I'm not sure exactly what you mean by other LED? I believe the backlighting is there, but the button that reveals it is not letting the light through. Does that answer it? Meaning the icon is not on the button, which prevents the illumination... Please let me know if this covers it.
Thanks for your interest

Maybe I should ask it this way, there were two switches that could be modify on the panel, does this assemble fit into one spot or could I order two for the same panel?

But I figure it only fit into one.

Sorry, hard to explain........

But I surly will get one for the fog active! Does it look 100% stock and just without the icon? Icon don't matter to me.

Ah yes it is the same piece as the standard foglight button piece that 135s do not have. 2 can be ordered, one for each location. I was actually going to look into the foglight switch location on top to see if it is a bused signal or a hard wire. The foglight icon is in the cluster as well. Maybe it's possible to use this switch as an activation for something. Whether it's a subwoofer or meth circuit activation, it wouldn't matter. If it is a hard wired signal out of the switch. That little tid bit I was saving until I did my research...

LOL. I've tried the lego mod but i used k'nex instead

OP: FYI, the pieces needed for the front and rear fogs are different lengths inside the switch. just ordering two wouldn't work, they need to be specific to either application.

That's all I can think of when I see the pieces! Haha, but no they're not legos, I didn't even think to try one... I'll get pics up asap, I've been posting from my phone so far. I wish the app had a way to do it.

the lego way works really well, think most people choose to go this route. This seems like a better choice but people are cheap lol

I understand. Either way is a lot cheaper than a euro switch...
