This was at 7:50am. The guy waved to me at the Quebec light and turned off on south monaco. I think he was running 261 style rims, non LCI tails

Yup that was me. Headed west on Belford and turning north onto Monoco. I work up that way. I remember now, you are also a black 1er and were behind me at the light at Quebec and Belview in the right lane. Then you got over to the middle and I took the turn too fast as I was taking a last look at your car instead of breaking. Nice to meet you.

It really seems like 1ers are pretty rare occurrences in the States. I see them everywhere in the motherland, granted, they are made here in Munich. Makes me feel like I am part of an exclusive club.

I always take notice because I don't see 1ers very often. There is some lady with a white 128i vert but I don't think she is an enthusiast.

I tend to take that turn quick when I can. It is smooth and has good vision plus it's own lane after the turn so it is a good turn for it. In all honesty the limits of the handling on my 135i is now well beyond what is safe on the streets so you kind off have to pick your best spots for fun.

Yeah I see that white vert all the time on Belleview. I also saw a girl driving a blue coupe on Belleview and Holly a couple weeks ago.

Arrrr.... No. The e82/e88's are made in Leipzig. Some 430 kms North of Munich.

In the Munich factory the 3er sedan and wagons (Tourings) are made.

There are a handful of fun roads in the foothills up and down the front range like:

Coal Creek Canyon
Lefthand Canyon
Highway 7
Highway 72
Turkey Creek
Poudre Canyon
Highway 125 just north of Granby

Some of these roads can be fairly crowded with traffic on weekends during the summer though.

I spent some time in Colorado in a previous life. Some favorites:

  1. 285 to Hoosier Pass, past Breck, Swan Mtn Road, Loveland Pass, home. The high point is Loveland Pass at 11,990 ft. Might want a turbo.
  2. Copper Mtn, Fremont Pass, Leadville, Tennessee Pass, Minturn, Vail, Vail Pass, back to Copper. Three points where you'll be over 10,000 ft.
  3. 285 to Buena Vista, 24 to Twin Lakes, Independence Pass (elev 12,095') down into Aspen. Not a loop.
  4. Golden, Boulder, Estes Park, Rocky Mtn National Park, Grand Lake, Winter Park, Berthoud Pass back to Golden.

These four are fun, but I didn't include Wolf Creek Pass, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Crested Butte, Telluride, or a bunch of other places. Have fun.
