aint nothing wrong with seafoam IMO....I think it works when used properly, and not too often.
While you may be able to hydro-lock the engine with seafoam - its tough and you'd probably need to add unreasonably too much to do so, as its a pure petroleum based product. jb |

Yup, seafoam is a waste of time on straight DI engines. There needs to be some kind of port injection for it to do anything for your valves.
IM and throttle body would be a different issue though unless I'm mistaken if you spray it into the intake piping.

So my SA called me and told me that they are going to be putting a new transmission in to my car and it will just cost me the $50 deductible.
I asked him about the carbon buildup and he offered to have me do a ~$450 "flush with chemicals" that would supposedly help. I find this to be very odd, and am slightly worried now. |

the flush with chemicals is essentially seafoaming the car - lol to the fact they charge 450 for that

What's even more funny(or sad) is that a few BMW techs and service advisors didnt even know what DI was and tried selling me on the cleaner until I had to pull the service manager in and have the educated on it and stop scamming customers for a service that did nothing.

I wonder if you were to buy the seafoam spray or mopar combustion chamber cleaner sprayed into the throttle body would help? Or spraying it into the intake every oil change or so? I might try it on my car soon and see what happens.
