One Helluva Ride at 100mph

Okay, so I have had my e90 for two weeks now. The weather has been really horrible and cold. Well, today it is 70 outside and I just couldn't bear to sit in my office any longer looking down on my car in the parking lot. So, I just left and decided to take it for a run. I must say that this experience today was very very liberating. It was the absolute best time I have had driving a car in a very long time. I threw on the shades, rolled down the two front windows, opened the sunroof all the way, cranked the tunes to max and hit the interstate. I was weaving in and out of traffic and hitting straight aways at over 100mph. Totally unbelievable experience! My hair looked like Kramer when I was done, but such a terrific thrill! I am so looking forward to springtime.

If the weather is nice your way today, let it all out and punch the car for what it's worth. So liberating!

I'm not going over 100mph until after my break-in

Still have a few hundred miles left.... but I can't wait!

I was told by my CA that break-in was to 800 miles. You have had your car over a month and you still under break-in?

Your CA lied. It's 2000 km.

according to the manual, break-in is 1250 miles. there are a million threads on break-in here too, if you want more details.

i don't think having a car for a month and still fresh and new is something unusual. if you don't commute and everything is in semi-close distance, you don't get many miles in. i put 10,000 miles a year on my car, at most.

Don't think of being caught speeding as a bad thing. If you think of speeding tickets as a tax for letting you go faster than everyone else rather than a fine for doing something wrong, it doesn't seem so bad. :rocks:

I had less than 650 miles on my A4 the first month…and have about 1260 miles now and will have about 1320 total miles by Saturday (which will mark my second month of ownership). Luckily, Boca is small and the distances are short.

Sounds awesome!! I can't wait to do the same!! I can't wait to get my car hopefully only another week or so!!!

PS. I'm wondering how long it is before someone gets on here and start telling you how it is ethically and morally wrong to do what you did, yadda yadda yadda.

PPS.

I think I should compile all these quotes and make a book out of it or something.

What is 6th gear at 4500RPM. It has to be more than 100mph. So you are technically still following the break in procedure.

That is unless you crank it through 1,2,3 to get there

It's not going to last for long for me. In 3 weeks, I'm moving to a different county and my commute will be 53 miles RT.

My wife will reap the benefits as she will be 8 miles RT. She is now about 58 miles RT.

On the bright side, I will get to drive my e90 longer...
