RIEGER diffuser (extended/modified) pics

So my search for a diffuser had me exploring all options... and as much as I like CF, the shape/style/dimensions of the Rieger diffuser I thought were perfect; well... almost. The only thing that bothered me was how it extended below the bumper but then sort of just "stopped" a few inches in (see stock picture). Viewed from the side, I wish it extended deeper under the bumper and flowed into the car's body lines better.

Anyway, this isn't really a DYI as much as an FYI, so hopefully I'm posting this in the right section. But for anyone else interested in doing this, a short trip to a local Home Depot/Lowes and a couple of hours of patience can provide an easy "fix". All I used was:

1. Some aluminum "L-shaped" trim... yeah I am sure that's the technical term for it, ha ha. I used a 1" x 1" x however long it is sold at, maybe 48"? Our bumpers stock happen to have small bolts underneath the bumper on both sides (you can't miss them if you look) and once you cut the aluminum to length, it's just a matter of lining up the holes to determine where you will need to drill at.

2. I also bought some flat 1" x 1/8" x 48" aluminum as well, really just to use as a "spacer" of sorts slid in between the underneath of the bumper and the cut L-shaped brackets. This is just to get the brackets to hang at the same depth as where the Rieger diffuser hangs at, right at the point it where it so abruptly stops.

3. Once cut to length, just sanded/filed down the ends to line up, sanded, painted... done.

EDIT - 4. Almost forgot! I suggest you remove one of the bolts from the bottom of the bumper BEFORE you go to the store. The stock ones may end up being a bit too short once you add the aluminum trim pieces. I just took a stock bolt in and grabbed the same diameter/pitch replacement, albeit 3/8 inch longer.

Anyway, a couple fellow members expressed interest, and I wanted to share

Oh yeah, and sorry, I know the car/wheels are dirty

Thanks, they are just very dirty ASA AR1's, 18x8F and 18X9R. They should look better once the factory lift-kit is gone and I finally decide on a particular suspension setup.

Perfect timing. Was at home tonight designing the exact same feature. Just saved me some time and effort. Thanks!

You put your stock run flats on here or did you get custom tires too? I have the 135 Msport wheels which I like but with the white car, I want to get something black this summer.

Cool beans! Yeah post some pics here when done, or shoot me a PM if you have some questions the install. Once you measure and have the brackets in front of you, believe me it will all just sort of come together as far as where to drill, how to mount, etc.

No, RFT's are still on the stock rims. These are 225/40 18 and 255/35 18 Yokoham S-Drives that I already had on the wheels... although my rears are about gone, so it's either PSS or S-04 next.

Looks fantastic, good work! But I've got the carbon one on mine and don't want to repaint it. Guess I'll have to live with the eye sore!

Off topic, but looking at your sig, what lip have you got on your car?

I've seen a similar one but it had vertical "wings" at the ends... which I'm not too keen on.
