Will 40 offset wheels fit 128i (35 offset)?

I'm looking for winter tires/wheels and found a good deal but they say they are for 3 series. They are 18 inch with 40 offset. Will these fit on my 128i?

The answer is probably but might be a close fit. Tire size and camber will influence the answer. 225/40-18 on stock suspension should be fine. 205/40-17 should also be fine.

Offset is relative to wheel width. How wide are the wheels? An 18x12 ET40 is going to stuck out a hell of a lot further than an 18x7 ET40.

All true...I assumed that OP was looking at 7.5 or 8 inch width since it was a snow tire question and those wheel sizes are readily available exactly this application. Bottom line is that, yes, wheel width does affect the answer.

I have 17x8 et40 225/45/17 winter set up. I am stock height. All good

I have 18x8.5 Et40 all round with 225/40/18 F and 255/35/18 R..
Fine with rolled guards, rears will rub ever so slightly over uneven levels of road.
