I am planning my next drive for Saturday August 18th for those who are interested. I know some of you are heading to Monterey and are going to hate me for this but this was the best time I could work out to do the next drive.

Date: August 18th 2012
Time: 9:00-9:300am
Address: Starbucks - 1472 1st Street, Livermore, CA 94550

Leave for drive at 9:30am on the DOT!

Sacramento Caravan
Time: 7:40am – Leaving ON THE DOT!
Address: Laguna 76 - 2323 Laguna Boulevard, Elk Grove, CA 95758

For those who recognize the address we are doing the same event we did in May. If you have no idea, what I am talking about then you will need to come out and see for yourself what is planned. Sorry, for the secrecy but this event requires some political maneuvering so I have to be cautious on what is posted.

I'm still contemplating this one because my suspension still hasn't settled and it's rubbing everywhere. And I know how bumpy that ride was.

Go to the alignment shop and put 2.5 front camber and 2 rear camber. Problem solved LOL. Or roll the fenders.

Last option is just to meet us there at the end but then you miss the twisties.

I plan to do the alignment at the 500mile mark as recommended by my shop.
I've already rolled the fenders and it's helped a lot, but still rubs lol. I don't think you can get that much camber without camber plates though, can you?

Yeah, I was thinking of joining you guys at the end (around 1-2pm?), because that part is pretty fun too lol.

So I guess, you can count me as a maybe for now.

Well I have bad news this afternoon =(

I received word that we will not have access to the airfield this weekend. The reason is there are a lot of hops I have to jump through to get us permission to use this place. I was recently tossed a few more hoops to jump through and as such, we are not permitted to use the location this weekend. On a positive note, once I completed the additional hoop jumping we will have better access to the airfield.

It looks like my notice of cancellation was a bit premature for those who might have gotten that notice. You know when you are with the right person you tell them we lost the airfield so there is no drive and their response is in not so many words “well maybe I wanted to still do the drive”.

So by order of the BIG boss we are going to do the DRIVE ONLY part of the day. I will continue my efforts to get us to the Airfield for a future date.

I'm gonna miss this one, but I'm looking forward to the next one. Sunday PCA is having an autox at Mather AFB if anyone is interested. Fifty bucks for non PCA members. I'm gonna go and try not to embarrass myself to bad.

Great drive on Saturday, ZERO traffic for a change, which allowed for some great driving on twisty roads. As usual, please remember to send me any images you have so I can share them with the group. I will post again once I have the images compiled.

I was able to splice together two videos of the drive. Video one is of the first leg and video two is the second leg. Shot were from a BMW E30 318i in the middle of the group.
