Don't confuse the M badge with the M3 badge. There is nothing wrong with the M badge on this 320 as it has the M sport pack going by the rear bumper and wheels. So IMHO, its totally legit to have an M badge (not M3) on it, be it installed at factory or owner.
Yes, the e46 320's come with 6 cylinder engines and have two exhausts. |

I personally think the M badge is distasteful. I don't care if it's an M3 badge, M badge, M sport package or whatever, if it didn't come from factory I don't think it should be there. I think it's definitely 'look at me' and the only reason it's there is to seek attention and let the odd person pass it off as something it isn't. It serves no real purpose.

I figure at some point BMW Aus just realised they may as well change the 318i's to 320i's given the e46 318i actually had a 1.99ltr 4 cylinder engine.

Well there you go I had no idea the E46 320i was a 6cyl. But then that still does not justify the //M

DAMN you've got yourself an X5M? 4.7s 0-100 for a 2 tonne plus vehicle is bloody insane. Yeh I've heard the arrangement of the cylinders really strangles out the noise.
Pretty over the top in my opinion, but 408kw is undeniably awesome.

I think you mis-understood me. It was the more "oh dear lord" as in "they have arrived"... more smoking from other models

Oh my apologies taymaishu. Yeah it is a quick car, but not only that, it corners so flat and rides so well! It's everything you could want in a car for the road.
Jeef Beer, yeah it is over the top, but so are many of the cars I've had including the current C63 and the modified 135i. We needed more space (X5M will replace our X3 3.0si M sport), and I really don't like driving the X3 on open roads as I feel it is too slow. So we found the perfect solution in the X5M. BMW86, I agree! |
