Convertible with Performance Exhaust

Just querying.....

Who has a convertible and the Performance Exhaust? If so, how much exhaust travels back inside the car? Both while at a stop, and while traveling?

Thanks.

I have the exhaust on my coupe and it sounds fantastic. It must be even better on a convertable.

I've listened to the various exhaust videos on YouTube, and the BMW Exhaust sounds the best. Even better than Magnaflow, which is what I have on my commuter Focus, and if it can make the Focus go from crappy sound to great sound, I figured it was great for the 1, but it doesn't sound as good.

However, with convertibles, or same with a SUV that has its back window down, exhaust comes back into the vehicle interior. I want to know how much does it come back in? I'm debating on doing the PPK and the Performance Exhaust, but I don't want the car to become obnoxious.

I've got one and it's sensational.

Nothing beats having the roof down and blasting through the gears with a BMWP Exhaust.

You will not be disappointed.

It's a little too noisey on cold startup but after a couple of minutes it's fine.

At idle when warm it's fairly quiet.

With roof up or down driving it's not intrusive, but is loud.

I find 5th or 6th gear 45-55mph quite loud and boomy when maintaining speed on an incline, but that's my only very minor gripe.

AND you have white like I do. How dirty does it now get around the tailpipe area?

The only time anything has come back into my car was when I spun out at autox and had an ominous white cloud of tire smoke float over my car

Ok, cool. Thanks BrokenVert. I know your advice is good, as I have read your posts, you are quite in tune with your vehicle.

I just wanted to be sure. What made me think of it was driving in my Focus, I had the hatchback open/tied down because of a board that was too long to fit in the car. Just from a small 4 inch crack in the hatch, the car was literally becoming a choke-fest of exhaust. For the Focus, who cares. But for my 1, that would be really bad.

Ok, I think I will keep the BMW PE on my list of upgrades.

It doesn't.

But I am a little crazy about the amount of time that I spend cleaning my car.

Everytime my car is cleaned I also clean the exhaust and polish it once a month. I also use an old MF towel to wipe just inside the exhaust to keep it clean.

It is the best mod you can buy for a 135 IMO.

Nothing like the sound of a Turbo BMW with the top missing.

Had a 335iCC for a few weeks while in ATL last summer, and I could not get enough of it.

There is... a 'Turbo BMW with the top missing' and a BMW Performance exhaust
