Agreed. Let's get back to laughing at people that think the new electric steering and lifeless cars are the best thing in the world.

Since you will be seeing extensive track time, good call on the 128i.

imo this is a ludicrous statement as many 135i owners regulary track their vehicles... Ask me how I know. Not to even mention the fact that the 1m shares the same n54 as the 135i and, well I guess we all know how those cars aren't track worthy at all

Op congrats nonetheless!

For a short time I had a 135i, I dealt with overheating issues in hot summer months. Two of my friends who tracked their 328i and 128i consistantly ran like a top all day. Honestly didn't matter what temp it was, they also ran their cars harder than I. N54 is known for overheating, not a secret. There is a good thread over on e90post track section, with many solutions for addressing the N54's weak link. It is an on going 5 year old thread. Not like I am making this up. I am not saying the 135i isn't track worthy, it just was tiring constantly having to monitors temps. Mixing in cool down laps or cooling off in paddock.

Off topic. I will add my buddies new M4, he beats the crap out of it on the track. The S55 is no joke, absolutely zero temp issues. Very impressive for FI powerplant.

The ppk with the extra cooling equipment obviously makes due because I haven't heard of the 1m overheating. However I'll say my n55 has never needed a cool down lap ever. I ran the car in a hour long "happy hour" session and never saw the oil temp needle move right of 250 , and I rev to 6500 running full tilt maybe 8-9/10ths

you guys are funny.

I wanted to buy the last of BMW N/A Bread and Butter In Line 6. I had an e90 335i xdrive. It was a very fast cruiser. I remember driving it to montreal and I loved it.

The focus on this car is daily commuting and building an eventual monster. I have my 991 Carrera when I go to the track.

My end game is putting a S65 in this baby and make it the real 1M.

Some of you guys should come to europe and rent a 116i or even a 114i :P Compared to those a 128 is an absolute monster.

Small update:

The OEM reverse lights are horrendous halogen bulbs. I decided to spruce them up with some LED bulbs. Instead of going to eBay, I went to Amazon and got some W16W LED bulbs.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Can't go wrong with $9 shipped right? Ordered on Wednesday thru Amazon Prime, and they came in yesterday. Didn't have time to install them till tonight. Here are some before, during, and after pics:

On queue:

- car going to ACM for full M3 suspension (sway bars, bushings, tie rods, arms, etc.)
- bmw performance cf lip
- rear fog switch retrofit

look in the rear trunk. there are felt panels on each side. remove them.

there are two clips (one at the top and one at the bottom), you squeeze them towards the center of the the entire taillight and this releases the light board.

then just pull on the bulb and install the new ones.

check that they light up before you put everything together (keep the cars ignition on and put the car in reverse to see if the bulbs lights up)

You can just do shocks only which is what I'm offering. I already sold the springs, but for what it's worth the Dinan springs I had were marginally lower. And the PS yellow springs, should you get them separately, are even more conservative. Here's how the Dinan looked on my car:

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1052799

The shocks were biggest complaint on my car, very underdampened. Even brand new they felt like a pogo stick when hitting certain dips. Just buy shocks only

Installed the euro rear fog light module

Relatively easy install

- remove the singular torx under the panel
- pry out driver side air vent
- disconnect light module
- install new module

The one I got did not have the chrome appearance so I switched over the control knob. Pretty simple.

Here are some pictures

Got this BMW CF style Performance Spoiler off ebay for $149.

Came with 3M double sided tape.

I love how it looks.
