Square setup on 135i stock suspension with room for a track-oriented suspension later

Hi all!

I know variants of this has been asked before, but I am interested in a square setup for more balanced handling (eliminating the horrible under steer) and allowing for tire rotation as well. At this time I'm not interested in a major suspension overall but I will later - I have been doing track days for four years in other cars. What would be the best flexible square setup for this purpose? I imagine 245 in front is too big -- perhaps 235 all around? Would I have enough clearance for an aggressive drop with coilovers?

Thanks for any advice.

If you don't want an overhaul now the biggest you can do is a 245 square on 8" wheels

I've been running Enkei Performance Klamps in 18x8.5 et 42 with 235-40-18 Pilot Super Sports on all four corners for over a year now. With a big (22.5mm, couldn't find the 23.6mm bar in stock anywhere when I was looking) rear ARB and camber plates, I've got it just about right for tracking. Now, however, I'm finding that the springs are too soft. I am bottoming out in some corners and ride on the stops during big fast sweepers.

I currently run a 17x9 et42 245-40-17 Rs3 setup for the track. 5mm front spacer, camber 2.5 all around. slight rub in the front but very minimal under very tight curve.

I have a 128i with the sport package and am running 225/40/ 18 in each corner on 7.5" wheels with a 45mm offset and they fit very well. I have a set of 8.5" wheels with a 40 mm offset from a former Z4, also with 225's and they clear the suspension by only 2-3mm. Way too close for me to feel comfortable. I' sure 235 would fit but with 245 it seems that the offest and rim width would be critical.
