OT-My day today with Driver Dynamics
Today i blew the cobwebs off my old E28 M5 at the Police Training Skid Pan. It was the first time i have been there and it was massively enjoyable. This was the first time this car has been on a decent drive in a while and it was a thrill to get it out and in the thick of it. Nice not to press DTC, DSC, e diff, blah blah
This is what i call real Pure Driving pleasure, us out enjoying our BMW cars, i hope you enjoy, thanks Kev More videos of some other cars HERE I highly recomend you guys check out the Driver dynamics calendar for upcoming events. |

That looks pretty good Andrew! Ask Kev how I went in the 135i on semi-slicks. Haha, lesson is, don't go to the skidpan with semi-slicks on...

It was at the Police Driver Training complex near Tullamarine Airport, Mickelham road Attwood Melways Map 5 J2.
Very small groups means heaps of time out there, i think i could fill the next group with just a few people i told today about it. Keep an eye on driver dynamics website, man i have some fun, still smile thinking about it. Best fun i have had in the old car in a very long time. |

No one's mentioned this yet but DAMN that's a sweet M5 you got there. Timeless classic. Love the simplicity of the I6 before all the V10 high-tech gizmo nonsense.
I bet that's the most fun you've had spinning in circles for 5 minutes

Thank you, yes, its actually an M535i E28 converted to M5, but hearing the 24 valve engine roar was really nice, they have 6 seperate throttle bodies in those cars, and the BMW plennum creates a really nice sound under revs. I purchased a full exhaust system straight from BMW from the headers back so that adds to the sound track. The close ratio gearbox had the right gearing and the LSD works like old school diffs. The fun factor was huge, heaps of track time for circle work, i was really spent by the end of the day. I have had the car for about 9 years now, i recently put a new dash in that i had away for many years and had the seats redone in nappa leather, 740i front brakes, 540i rear brakes for larger diameter, Alpina Genuine Wheels, Bilstein shocks, l rebuilt the engine a few years ago, new pistons, chain, guides, head ported, and all the good gear, have it set up on Motec, gotta love the old school.....in the right environment I'm going to take it to the ShowNShine this weekend too.
