I honestly wouldn't want to try this. Too many variables out there and wouldn't want to lose more than I can afford.

haha, I don't think they would notice but you never know you might have someone checking your rental that really knows BMW's....

As you know I'm having left hip surgery soon and if my clutch leg doesn't work after this operation, I'll rent a 135 with DCT and swap the tranny out with my 1M's 6-speed.....who wants to help me make the swap?

^^ It's the American way! I think as long as you return the car to a different location... I bet no one would be the wiser. Just saying...

It's not my rental I'm talking about here. Some female is renting a euro 120d vert. It has what I need! |

I don’t think they will notice, but you never know… just make sure the light work afterwards.
Rick I’ll help you, if you help me with an engine swap from the new m5 in mine.

I can see the Sixt guy's face when he opens the hood of your returned M5 and says "WTF" as he sees the little BMW "M powered" engine looking all puny in the engine bay....do you think he'd believe..."I washed it with hot water?"

I remember reading a couple years back about two guys that put an EBay nitrous kit on a rental car for a week in Las Vegas. Hilarity ensued.
And remember kids: nothing parties like a rental.

Hell! You might be reading about a guy that swapped his taillights out for LCI's from a rental here soon! Plus the flat silver interior trim as well!

LMAO, honestly doubt they'd notice.
Put me down as another that has thought about the euro headlight swap from a rental. I think ill just find another owner that wants US spec headlights though. |

Hmm... this might be an opportunity. I would still like to have the trim painted in the long term though. Maybe when I get the car back stateside. |
