Finally ordered last week- no book!
So I finally pull the trigger on a 128 thinking I'm still getting the book but now being told by BMWNA that cars produced in calendar year 09 are no longer considered year one cars, hence no book. Anyone know if this true/false? If true I could cancel in favor of an 08 produced 2009 Crimson Red/black ette/ZSP/xenons/heated/ipod- closest I could find in existence to my config on the Eastern seaboard. I'm probably just being stupid/bitter and its not worth it but I really wanted that book dammit. As an added tease I had the pleasure of leafing through book #00001 at my dealer. He said if the buyer doesn't ask about it that he'd give it to me but I'm not holding my breath. Any info/opinions out there?
thanks and thanks for all the insightful and civil discussions that I've enjoyed silently for the past year or so. I've been patient (for several reasons) and this is what I get! Oh well hopefully I'll have my ride by spring and if the snow ever melts maybe I'll even get to drive it! |

I suppose they might have changed their mind, but the Year of the One was supposed to go until the end of Feb production I believe. That would include the starter ring and the book. However, I think the improvements in the '09/getting exactly what you want would outweigh the value of the book.
If you don't get one, I'm sure you can buy one from someone here or eBay or whatever. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice book, but the car itself is what I really wanted.
