I give up...

24,382 miles and 2 years since I bought my 135.

It's been in the shop for:

Tail Light Replacement(twice)
Passenger Seat Mechanism not working(twice)
Fuel Pump (thrice)
Center Trunk brake light cracking and falling out

I haven't bothered taking it in for:

Passenger side climate control settings do NOTHING.
Heater only blows hot if set at maximum, anything lower than that does nothing.

I talked to BMW and they aren't going to do a thing and I doubt I can actually get the car fixed through lemon laws.

The shame of it all is I love the car when it behaves, but I'm just about ready to pull my hair out...

^ Agree. Try diffrent dealer. We had some minor issues with our ML one dealer could never get it right. Went to another and never looked back. Problems ALWAY solved first time.

Sorry to hear that. As said earlier, you may want to try a different dealership.

Your issues sound like they should not have happened but should now be fixed (except possibly for the fuel pump but there is reason to have some hope there too). If they are over with, why get rid of it now?

I haven't taken mine in except for maintenance work with two exceptions. I made an appointment to get the seat belt recall done and more recently I dropped it off while I went out of town to get a new top installed due to a quality issue with the first one (loose threads in one small area). My dealership has been good to work with scheduling things when reasonably convenient for me. My tail light issue was dealt with when I was there for an oil change anyway, for instance.

I've had a few more issues with my bimmer than other new cars I've owned but they all have needed something. I start thinking of getting rid of a car when it leaves me stranded and the bimmer hasn't done that. The last "fun" car I had, a Fiat 124 spyder, would leave me stranded on the other side of town (consistently). That was just unacceptable. An occasional extra visit to the dealer that doesn't cost me anything and can be scheduled when I have time to deal with it I can live with.

Jim

I have been to both nearby dealers. The only thing that even is the dealer's fault is the repetative seat issue, everything else actually failed multiple times...

I have also had the seatbelt recall. In total like 11 service visits in 2 years.. ugh.

Look at the bright side, each time the car goes in they give you a nice loaner to try.

Taking mine in this weekend to get the driver side window recoded or something?? It doesn't roll up all the way on the first attempt and rolls back down until you push the switch a second time. Kind of anoying but hopefully an easy fix.

While the climate control will only send heated air from the dash vents when the temp is set at 84o, pushing "Auto" and setting the temp anywhere above ambient will send warm air to the floor vents and will heat the car to the set temperature. This is how the system is designed so it sounds like yours is working OK.

It has a pressure sensor I believe. Maybe something is setting that off.

Isn't this just a US thing? In South Africa this certainly does not happen! Although we get a lift wherever. But we get a 62,500 mile / 5 yr full service / motorplan warranty which is better than 50k and 3 or 4 years.

It is dealer dependent. My dealer does not give out a loaner to me because I did not buy the car from them.

That sucks...I get a loaner from my dealer and I did not buy the 135 from them, but I did buy my 328 from them, and also serviced my 325 @ their shop.

I have had the same issues and more, Nav DVD drive bad, AC components replaced, driver side leather tearing plus all the rattling sounds I hear inside the car. Luckily my dealer and SA are straight! With about 1 year left on warranty I'm trying to decide which way to go. Will it be worth it to keep once out of warranty? Some days I just want to get rid of it, but then when I drive it I feel a little differently.

Keeping that car will drive you to Broke when its off warranty. No matter how much you love it, you love it because when its in the shop it doesn't cost you anything, and you have a new loaner to play with. That will all be gone when its off warranty.

Any repairs to a German car will cost you a Grand each time you check in at the service department and go home in a Rental Camry you pay for by the day.
