Got a "Your BMW Told Us It's Time To Come In" email.

For Brake Fluid and Micro Filter.

I'll have them look at the passenger rear view mirror glass which cracked for no apparent reason not too long after I got the car. And check out a spot on the steering wheel tr4im where the flat black vinyl wrap has started to come off of the plastic trim piece.

Seems like a steering wheel ought to have a more robust finish than a micro thin vinyl wrap over plastic. None of my other BMW's ever had steering wheel trim issues - just the steering wheel leather itself over time.

So, down to the dealer to get an earful about the AA exhaust and the GIAC* tune - should they discover it...

*Statements about aftermarket tuner software are made only to look cool in front of other addicts and in no way indicates that there is was or would ever be anything but the original software installed. Should any such non BMW software/firmware modification be discovered the cause would be unknown and may have happened without the owner’s permission or knowledge.

Let me know if they replace your steering wheel trim. Mine has gotten pretty bad and it has done the same for the trim near the cup holders.

I can confirm that I got a replacement steering wheel trim piece under warranty when mine started to peel.
