All of the wiring is diagrammed and all of the parts documented. Performance Technic can build more of them and at a more affordable price than my first build. I believe they intend to make a base package for the car which would essentially be like if bmw rolled one out of the factory and then have packages in which you can upgrade the car to your tastes. You can pick color,CF roof and other revozport CF will be optional upgrades as well as different x pipe configurations.

but this is a fantastic way to build a one off roadgoing car with the best ingredients. Less weight than the E9xM3, a shorter wheelbase, just the way I like it.

Congrats to get it on DRIVE and on the FrontPage!

Cheers

Its a ton of fun to drive and really makes a car that compliments the standard 1m. Thank you.

Thank you. The entire project was just as fun as the outcome and I cannot thank the companies and partners that came together to realize this car and also Matt Farah and the smoking tire for taking the time to come up and produce this video.

Thank you. I am glad you see it as a passion piece because that is really what kept everything going. It was a long and difficult project and without passion and love for the e82 chassis it never would have been completed.

Here is a pic of the new shifter. We did a new exhaust for the car as well and will be doing some minor things to finish it off.

that is a part of the CAE shifter. I needed to cut the front of the tray for it to fit.

Haven't updated in a while. Took the car to bimmerfest, HRE and Blox evolution. My raze Gt kit came in for the sequel car too.

Marco,

your car is insane! I realize this is not a priority on a project like this, but how has the powertrain reliability been since you dropped the S65 in? How many miles do you have on her so far?

How do you like your CAE shifter ilikebmxbikes ? Since the BMW Perf SSK is now discontinued, I was thinking of just getting one of those; although it would be for a daily driver... Thoughts?

S65 is great. The motor runs reliably. I did have a valve spring go in one motor and a fuse blew at the track but other than that they car is super strong.

I drove to San Diego from SF, did mega run (1200 miles) drove it home from LA, drove to LA from SF, did targa trophy, drove it home, drove it from SF to willow springs to compete and win a time attack event, drove it home and have driven it to thunderhill for half a dozen track days. She runs good.

You can daily drive a CAE no problem. It's so direct and short. It's simply amazing

Some pictures from today. Performance technic had a testing day scheduled for a race build but the company doing the tuning made an error with the DME so we instead just took the clone and the f80 out. Was super fun with only two cars out there. Way too hot though.
