Starting on my later 40's here. Ouch. Well, I have only gotten faster as the years go by so that is OK.
Man, I didn't have a car worth more than $10K (including 2 new cars) before I was 35. I would have never been able to afford having a nice car and pay for college and grad school and everything else, even with the minimal financial input from my folks at that time. In fact, at one time I had 5 cars and all together they didn't add up to $20K. Different world now.

Im 22, and the 135i will be my next car.
Ive owned a 2 s2000's (to include a SC one), a C5 corvette, and a lotus elise. The "status symbol of these cars can be regrettable, i agree. But all I care about is the mechanics and engineering of them. Ive taken apart and put back together most of the cars ive owned. Driving is a passion of mine. Im going to buy the best car for that. No reason to feel guilty at all. Enjoy it =).

Hey, you guys, age is a state of mind. My first car was a 1954 Plymouth, I drove a Super 90 Porsche while in Munich in the mid 1960s and I'm ready to pull the trigger on a 135. Go for it, whatever your age!

22 here. This is my 4th car I've owned. I've owned a 99 Grand Prix GTP that I modded to do low 13s, 96 Maxima for winter, 03 Cobra with around 500whp, and now have a 135i on order! I can't wait either. The only car I own now is the maxima and I hate the thing. And hasnt this thread already been made?:iono:

I sure can't throw stones. I've already spent the cost of a new Ferrari on my son's motorsports interests and he is only 14...

Got my license in 1951 (Do the math.). Bought first of four previous BMWs in '68. 135/SGM/Sport. At sea. As impatient as the youngest respondent.

but am in the same situation. I could have stretched myself for the 135, but i got the 128 since it was more of my style (dont want twin turbo engine pointless to me) Living in NJ is very expensive, plus my auto insurnce is ridiculous on the 1er. So i got what i liked at the price i wanted. No millionair, but i make about 50k a year..... and this is certainly a step up from my 08 accord demo
