When everyone starts complaining about their finish crapping out, their wheels bending on small potholes, and how f'n heavy they are don't bother posting.... You have been warned. I trust a product made out of fmxomar's garage a lot more than Rota... And that is saying alot because we've had our arguments on this forum as well. |

The shop I worked at built some of the fastest cars imaginable and competed in road race and drag race events... Our shop rx7 ran 8's in the quarter, and the road race car held it's own with new z06 vettes with R comps and coilovers even though that 7 was only making 380hp... Taking second against competitors like that shows a lot of knowledge on wheels/suspension/chassis, because all of the time we got eaten in the straights was a major obstacle But yeah, I know nothing about cars |

Call 510.786.1726 and tell them that your rotas finish is peeling. The answer you will get is "Can we please get an address to send you a call tag to so we can get the wheel back, inspect it, then send you a replacement" Of course if the wheel is like 4-5 years old that's a different story, but I've seen wheels that were up to 2 years old be warrantied for a finish issue (although rare) They won't bend on a small pothole, this is from personal experience...and the people here who have owned them can attest to that so you don't think it's just a bias opinion. Heavy? lol. You will shed weight by taking your OEM wheels off and putting on Rotas in a wider / taller size in most cases. The reason weights aren't posted is because weights vary by color by +/- a few ounces..and believe it or not some people worry over a couple ounces, but if anyone ever asks we're more than happy to post publicly or email or phone Zoeb |

let's get back on topic. Zoeb, I've been a subie guy for many years and have seen you grow and become THE rota distributor. What is an honest assessment of getting wheels in our offests?

The fact is, high offsets are doable, but custom widths are not...what you see is what is available. For example, you won't get a G Force wider than 9" 10.5 won't happen. Another issue is that with the super concave wheels, too high of an offset will cause caliper clearance. Whoever is placing the order will need to know what they are doing and know how to take accurate measurements to ensure that whatever specs purchased will infact clear both the inside on the suspension side and the calipers. Yes, I can get an STL report from the manufacture, but since you aren't a serious buyer and you are just here to slander a product, I'm not going to waste my time getting it for you. Quote:
18x9 +43 is doable, but the fronts would have to be 18x8.5 |

I understand that you're just a distributor... but I would hope that you could voice our interest to Rota to let them know that they have a good opp if they produce some wheels in the 1'er offsets

it will happen with deposits and people actually pre ordering If we were to do G Force for example, it would be $900 We'd need $200 up front and the balance when the wheels arrive 3-4 months from that point in time. People putting deposits have to be serious as they would be non-refundable |
