If you are a tech junkie who relies on the car’s power socket to keep your electrics charged, losing the Power Socket for our E8x Gauge Kit can make it a tough sell. We feel your pain, that is why we are offering this simple, plug-and-play Power Socket Relocation Kit. THe kit is made of OEM BMW Parts. It is a replacement headlight switch panel with a built in power socket and a blank plug for when you are not using the socket. The power socket is in the ideal location to power a GPS unit or radar detector. Putting the socket close to the map pocket in the driver side door lets you charge a cell phone while keeping it close by. Please note that this does not add a power socket, it is meant to replace the one in the ashtray. Installation is a breeze.

thats AWESOME. love the power locater and the vdo gauges

andy how much do u think this will be to install?
on my 05 sti i did my own gauges and it took like 6 hours... for boost and EGT and oil pres and it was a long painful process

Do you think install would be about 200?

Thanks,

now all you need to do is add a change pocket to that and we are all set !!!! LOL

Also I wonder if it would be possible to mount the gauges where the seat heater switch is located .... for those of us without them!!!

I have these in stock and ready to ship. There is no need to wait around for more broken release dates from other vendors.

I looked into mounting the gauges there. THe panel is too small up and down to get 52mm gauges in and finding smaller gauges is tough. I would also need to relocate the buttons for those with them which is a second part ($) to manufacturer. This is the best solution I could come up with.

Installation is not tough. Removing the center console is really the big time consumer. Also, I have no idea what an hourly rate from installer costs. I think if you went really fast, 4-6 hours would be around the minimum.
