When Andrew first fitted my KW clubsport, it looked really good as there was hardly any gap between the tyre and wheel arch. I think Andrew may have just gone with the recommended spec. But after one testing session on the track, I raised it by 15mm and my lap times were much better. So the lesson is, low doesn't mean fast. This is why I laugh when I read about people complaining about the front of 1M being too high.

Are the V1's lower leg adjustable or is the adjustemnt done via the spring seat?

In regards to going too low and causing poor handling, it depends on the car's geometry from BMW, when you lower a car, you lower its centre of mass/gravity, and you also lower the "Roll Centre".

If after lowering the roll centre moved lower than the centre of mass did the distance between them is greater, and the couple is bigger, theoretically this actually promotes more rolling during corners, even though you may not essentially be feeling it, the suspension is now having to work harder, and is outside of a more optimal point. This can be linked to things like that written below....

For something like that written above, fitting adjustable links, or some sort of bushes to change the geometry/roll centre height (if its out) may allow the car to be at the new lowered height, and handle as well as before.

Looks right and best track setup are usually different. A corner weighted pro setup can look goofy.

well i won a decent slice of cash on the weekend at the races and am looking to invest in a coilover system, now i know that KW seems to be the pick, but i dont know which system to get?? V1 or V2 prices are about how much i want to spend..

for someone who just wants "better" rebound and the ability to lower (i have no intention of tracking my car) would V1 suffice or would i be better advised to get V2?

I got the V1 as I figure I wasn't going to adjust the damper.

And my car is for street only.

Getting the V1 installed tomorrow will post pics will be dropping the car 25-30mm

Jeef Beef and Raihax - are you keeping the stock front swaybar or are you also changing this out?

I plan on installing the KWs (either the v1 or v2), or the BMW Performance Suspension shortly, and I would be very interested in hearing your thoughts on why you went with v1 rather than the v2s.

I got the E93 M3 swaybar on mine.

I got the V1 as I couldn't justify the cost of the V2 when I wont even adjust the damper settings.

Car is back in the shop hopefully everything will be sorted out by today....

Cos I'm a tightass Plus I doubt I'd be fiddling with the damper settings other than the initial installation...no point in having that option.

I've got stock, but might think of going M3 sway as well.

The shop didnt install the rear springs properly

They couldnt put in KW's adjustable mount without having the lowest setting being the same height as stock height.

Same issues as BMW86 had I have shown them his thread and hopefully it will be fixed....

They didnt remove the rubber stock mount when putting the KW adjustable mount.

Thanks guys - I've settled on the K1s if I go the coilover route for the same reasons.

Now I only need to decide between the 26.5 and 28mm sway.

I might go down the same route of kw v1 and e93 sway. Does anyone know how much the postage is for sway bar from unitedbmw?
Also, the kw from andrew@southernbm, is that with INOX?
How much do you guys pay for installation of the kw?
