Neat thing on the BC

OK I'm probably a dork, but noticed something neat today.

I stayed in the car while I was filling-up and was in the accessories mode. I flipped over to the BC to re-set my gas mileage and noticed that the "Range to Empty" would move (increase) as the car filled with gas. Kind of unusual to see the countdown going in the opposite direction.

You are a dork. You know how I know? Because I'm a dork. I noticed that as well with my '03 xi. Geez, we should be outside squeegie-ing our windows clean instead of staring at the BC...

Excellent, more dorks. I noticed that a couple weeks ago, too. Now whenever I fill up I watch the range to empty display tick back up...

I actually went into the hidden OBC functions to monitor the change in volume of gas while refueling..

Maybe reentring the car before ending the refueling, is not such a good idea...

Just have a look at this:
http://www.pei.org/static/

In the beginning, I thought it was just one more hoax. But in reality, many public authorities in some countries, have already issued warnings.

hmm, that girl in the video is kind of cute...where was this?

on the other hand though, leaving the engine running must not be such a big deal since NJ has full-service gas stations and people leave their cars running the entire time while the gas station guy fills the car up...

Danger = Frequency * Severity

The chances of catching on fire because you didn't kill the engine while refueling are quite low, yes. But when it happens... You catch on fire

Moral = Better safe than sorry.

If you refuel with the engine running they would kill you here in Spain :mad:
A cousin of mine who lives in México but comes here for vacation almost got beat up for this, the guy at the pump freaked out.

To clarify the engine was not running. I hit the Start/Stop button once, so just had power to the accessories.
