Hi. I bought a 2012 135i recently and I'm wondering about possibilities for winter wheels. It seems that the 135i will take the 17" wheels - obviously - but they must be pretty close to the brake calipers, aren't they? BTW, how do we refer to the brakes on the 135i? I'm referring to the calipers that are shiny grey or silver with BMW white lettering, fixed calipers with 6 pistons front and 4 pistons (?) rears.

The Style 141 wheels are designed to fit a 135i with no problems, so these will fit right onto your car plug and play. I have the 135i front calipers installed on my 128i, and I have the same wheels with no issues. Good luck. |

Thanks
Thanks for the info.
I used to be a licensed mechanic (Ont.) and have done lots of work on brakes, transmissions, etc. I have had the rotors off my "new" car and I service my brakes meticulously. I'm just learning the ins and outs of the 135i though as I've never worked on a bimmer before. I don't have a hoist and I only use hand tools and I will probably take the car to the dealer for anything very complicated. Having mostly had Japanese brands before, my vehicles have almost never been in a dealership service dep't.! |
