Is this the charge pipe?

Hey guys,

Finally got my car back from the dealer, got the HPFP replaced, and decided to put on my HPFP again. It seems to run fine now - no misfires or anything, I take everything back when I was so bitter about the procede haha..

Anyway while I was doing a few run I notice a popping sound, my first reaction was my tyre blew but the tyre pressure sensor didnt go off. So I slowly drove my way back to my house and check the engine bay. It appears that the pipe (on the picture below - with the red circle) came off. I was wondering if that was the charge pipe? and this is the infamous charge pipe issues that everyone have with the stock one.

Nope. Charge Pipe is the bigger one underneath that one.

Is that the Coolant Feed Line? I think the bit you've circled is the connection to the thermostat but I don't know the N54 engine well enough...

The charge pipe is the bigger one below, what you circled is the diverter valve which connects to the charge pipe. So yes that is what a few people that run higher boost have issues with.

Ah ok so nothing to worry about and I should look into getting a charge pipe with a dv to prevent this from happening again?

Well if it keeps popping off you will either need the forge dvs or charge pipe and dv/bov . O alternatively zip tie it down ghetto style!

Hi Rey, did they actually change your HPFP in the end? Or was it just a reprogram?

Mine went in today as I couldn't even start it this morning. No CELs or codes, just didn't start first go. Had to stop and restart. They checked it and said they'd need to re-program it and then do my injectors next week- parts ex Germany as per your story from your SA.... but no need to change the HPFP

Sounds like they go through this protocol of reprogram, then change HPFP when it eventually dies. Dunno why they just don't do it all in one go

Yeah ingot my hpfp replaced, they programmed but it got to the point that it goes to limp mode when I rev it past 3500 rpm.

I know what you mean it would make life so much simpler!

You should still sell your PROcede and replace it with a JuiceBox.

I might have missed something here, what's going on?

Also you might as well get an ER CP and either DVs or a BOV to prevent future issues. It's a cheap mod.

I got bitter with my procede since I kept misfiring and was going to sell it. After I changed my hpfp it is now all good! So i guess that was him taking a shot at me.

I will look into a charge pipe, just low on mod fund right now! Not sure if I will go bov though since I am AT and a bit too ricey for me I think.

Hehe yah that's about the size of it. I just think given you said you were going to sell your PROcede and swap to a JuiceBox you should still do that.

Those sot of words should not be said unless you're going to do it. So do it!
