one year with the 1coupéM:
- a few roadtrips showed it is perfect to bring me&mountainbike to...the mountains - Nm>>>>>Hp - snappy - pagids/akra: certainly the pagid brakepads are a serious improvement - 23865km - 11,8l/100km for me: best car on the Mountainpasses and that is what I bought it for only one BIG regret: Black, I should have taken V-Orange

De gustibus et coloribus non est disputandum. However, why are you convinced that, with what you know now, you would have opted for VO instead of BSM ? Personally I never hesitated about my color choice - intentionally ordered VO:
Recently had the opportunity to see ruf's BSM up close and got to say that I really liked it. BSM is more "beasty" and "threathening" on the 1M than VO. On the basis of that experience, if I could turn back the clock with what I know now, I think I would hesitate between VO and BSM for a few minutes, but in the end would decide to have a go at VO anyway. AW 1M is another story: not my cup of tea (I do not want to offend anyone, it's just personal taste). Strangely, if the 1M would have been offered in Inka Orange (M3 GTS benchmark color) instead of Valencia Orange, I think I would have opted for BSM. VO is undoubtedly an eye-catching, punchy color, but less "flashy" or "screaming" than Inka Orange. To me VO has more grace. It attracts attention in a good way. Inka Orange has a higher "showing off" factor. But, as I already posted in previous comments, if BMW M really would have liked to make a statement with the 1M, it should have made the 1M available in the three colors of the ///M logo only (as you might recall, in the early stages, before testing by car journalists, there was the fear at BMW that the 1M would be rejected by the car community, and especially by the BMW fanbase and M enthusiasts, as being not a "real M car", that is was not "M pure" etc.; all scepticism was rapidy brushed away after the first raving reviews in May 2011; anno 2012 no decent car journalist will pretend that the 1M is actually not worthy to get the ///M badge).

advantage of the black one:
some people think you are a police 1series and move more quickly to the right lane

Don't you need an AW doors, trunk and hood to look the part (and make it even faster)? Unfortunately the reverse makes much less sense, thus I'm certainly not volunteering a swap. Black police version (like the transformers Mustang) would be cool though, who's first?

Personal experience: lots of BMW's move over upon approach (they notice you in their rear view mirror and most of them know that VO = 1M) ...and subsequently move in again behind you to start tailgating you.

Let's make one more registry, I got my 1M last month from the dealer, it's just had it's first service yesterday.
Colour: BSM Region: Roeselare (west flanders) By the way, I still know one VO who's looking for a new owner at the dealership ;-) Last edited by Belgica; 07-13-2012 at 07:39 AM.. |

Saw an AW 1M last friday round 21:00-21:15 before Waterloo exit, license plate
1-CFA-xxx, he slowed down and light his warnings at me. Anybody here ??? Anyway, it seems that 242 1M's are registred in Belgium....in place of 40 (hum)

214 1M cars for Belgium + Luxembourg. Yup, not 41 as I was told when I ordered mine.

Oh, and if your dealership would not have awarded a reduction (less than MSRP) because "Hey, only 41 are made available", then you're entitled to be angry. But I have not heard that reason and I guess you too paid less than MSRP, no ? In the meantime, enjoy the car.

Can somebody with a Belgium 1M please post a picture their 'Type plaatje' (with blurred VIN of course)? I'm after the all the Ex*xx/xx*xxxx*xx of Exx*xxxx/xx*xxxx*xx numbers indicating the Belgium 1M's type certifications. And Yes, I'm sorry about further increasing the number of 1M's in Belgium. Still there fewer than the US |

Actually equally interesting would be if somebody with a Belgium 1M please post or PM their Certificate of conformity 'COC' (with VIN masked).
The German Datenbestaetigung is attached, comparison will probably yield an equal set of technical specs, but let's find out! |

123 Belgian 1M cars identified so far (except for possible overlap due to sale, resale and/or license plate replacement):
http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...25&postcount=1 Feel free to drop a line if you know of 1M's not featuring yet on that list or of any changes. List of Belgian 1M forum fellows: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...&postcount=263
