Debadging - moral dilema
I know this has been discussed before, but I need more opinions.
I have 325i with SP. I'm installing 162 wheels (I think they are perfect). Now, here's the hard part. After seeing some pics of debadged cars, I am considering debadging. If I had 330i I'd do it, but since I am putting 330 wheels on, debadging would seem like I'm trying to hide that my car is 325. Comments, thoughts, insults?

it's cool we'll still know it's a 325i because of the black grill and black door accent. debadge the mutha who cares anyone who'd get decieved wouldn't know the differences anyway

It's your car, do your thing.
The fact that you're concerned about being thought of as a "poser" shows that you are not debadging for any lame reason. If you ordered your car, you could have oredered it debadged and avoided the dilemma, "it came that way". There are very few people who would even notice it was debadged and fewer yet who care about the difference. Personally, I like the clean look. I am happy I did it.

What if you could get the M Pack? I think that noone could blame you for making more beatiful you BMW. The 162 rims are perfect (even better from the rims that come with the M Pack).

It's done, no more badge, proof inside
I debadged because, like everybody said, IT'S MY CAR. I think it looks great now. Badges on cars are like nametags on people, makes you want to stare at it...

Another option is to install an ///M badge. We call them $30 M cars! <g>
As I think it might have been pointed out on another thread, de-badging is quite common in Europe to make the car look understated and less attractive to thieves, though it is usually confined to 5 and 7 series cars. Do what feels good to you. Hey you could even badge it as a 7 series as in 730iL or 725iL. <g> |

I agree with most people, do whatever you want with your car
