Why would they say anything... why admit a new model and risk the chance that people will pass on what they currently offer...

I believe the 335 will be available next year....I am just not sure the 330i is going away....

It's not your job to track down sources to verify information for SpeedFreak. Ask him to back up his posts with documentation that others can verify. Posting documentation for all to see allows anyone to verify the source.

If you want to do the legwork for him, then more power to you :rocks:

In any case I hope this thread is true and we have some exciting new models coming.

RichReg, the previous rumor was the turbo test mule was to be a 335 twin turbo to debut with the coupe. What do you think the turbo test car was for? Just curious to see if you have heard any turbo updates since it appears, according to SpeedFreak, that there will be no turbo. http://www.leftlanenews.com/?p=216

Its my belief that all of the turbo talk we have heard will apply to diesel models. Its not like those engines haven't been a big project in the making for lots of manufacturers, like MB, etc.

Look, I wouldn't believe any of this if SpeedFreak hadn't mentioned the calender.
Could he be lying? Sure. But I have seen these calenders before and they are REAL.

So it's Open Road BMW. When I was shopping for my E90, I went to Open Road BMW first. The salesman that helped me told me he helped BMW design the E90. Every word that was coming out of his mouth was BS. This guy did not know anything. I did not buy my E90 there.

Neither did I. But some of the guys that work there are kind of lonely (on account of Open Road's B.S. customer service policies enforced by management) and don't mind shooting the breeze about future models.
And then sometimes they'll show you stuff on Centernet...or they might just pull out a memo or two.
Or a calender.

It will be tough now that I have already purchased my 330. It also sucks that they know this, too.
It has to be done some other way....
..I can almost guarantee that I wouldn't be able to get a hard copy of anything (unlike times in the past).

Ok, I got a plan. We need two members for this mission. One member will cause a distraction while the other member will snap some pics of the "classified" documents.

Any volunteers?

Hey Rich, thanks for the heads up on that info. I follow both msg boards but I've grown to like this one more so I would have likely missed that.

I have to say, after reading all of that, it seems like the info is pretty much solid. I was pretty much ready to get the 330, but there's no way I'm passing on the 335.

VERY excited!

Hmmm....
I guess its a shame that the name 'E90Fanatics' was already taken by another forum at the time of this board's creation.

It seems to be a much better fit here....

Yeah, go ahead......shrink my resale even more.
You rat bastard!
(Just kidding)

That's O.K. ...once BMW gets on its high horse again & starts to seriously pump out 3 Series volume,
all of those "Quality Control" issues will go downhill!

But if I remember correctly we saw the tachometers on those turbo shots and redline was about 7k rpm, which would indicate that it wasn't a diesel car since diesels have much lower redlines. I guess we'll know for sure soon.

Shouldn't this thread be renamed: "Another rumor on future of 3 series"

The only time you should be allowed to use the word "official" is when there's a link to the manufacturer's website or a press release.

haha c'mon Rich, don't think like that! Think of all the time you've already had, and will have over the next year enjoying your new 330.

If I was in the market for one now, I don't know if I could wait. But I won't need a car until next summer/fall...which makes the timing of the 335 PERFECT!

When's the 335i coming out anyway? (I just asked you this in the other forum too...haha...feel free to just answer this once).

True, I guess it can't be called "official" yet. But I don't think it's fair to just discount this as just another "rumor" either. Seems like as good of a source as one can ask for before actually having an "official" press release.

A 7k redline tells you absolutely nothing about what the car might be. Even if there is a boost gauge there so what. That doesn't mean it's measuring turbo boost. Manufacturers will commonly change things like tail pipes to disguise the car and throw off the media.

Should be September...according to the BMWNA calender that Speedfreak has.

I'm just horsing around about the resale...but you knew that already. Can't say about what will happen with quality control though. You know BMW is spreading 3 Series production all over the world now...and with all of these new engines/models coming out, there's no telling what problems could occur.

Play it safe and do European delivery I always say....

Gentlemen,

For the secret mission I suggest we use Bella and Niki as our secret weapons.

Now as for the upgrades - It does not take Sherlock Holmes to figure out that indue course BMW will up the power on the e90s.

In Auto Motor & Sport, a german mag that is credible, in an article I summarized as part of another thread, the author mentioned that direct injection will make its way into all BMW engines, as both a fuel saving mechanism and performance enhancer.

E90Fleet has even confirmed to us in this Forum that those engines have their own designation, I believe they are n53.

I have read in several German mags (the one mentioned above, Fas-zi-nation and Autobild) that BMW is experimenting with the transplant of its diesel twin turbo technology into gas engines. However, the speculation is on whether they will actually do it. For BMW this is a big move and it would be counter to the trend in German car manufacturers - engineer pride now is getting power out of normally aspirated engines, MB has renounced the kompressor; Audi is only sticking with turbo on its 4 cylinder engines, no more turbo 6 and the S and RSs so far are getting honking 8 and 10 cylinder engines.

I SPECULATE that the only reason BMW would do a twin turbo 6 is if they cannot get more horseys out the n52 engine. IF it is correct that they can do over 300 Hp without turbo, I believe that is the engine we will see (non turbo).

And by the way, the release dates are for Europe, in NA they (sedans) would come a year later. Here, the intro of the new engines, beginning with the 335 will occur in the coupe in calendar 2006, as a 2007 model year. This last bit was confirmed in an article by a BMW representative - I forget where I read it; I think it was in LeftLane.

SO once my lease is up I can get the 328
