As an insight into the LCI, most of it is ok.

But those eyebrows on the headlights. They follow none of the other lines of the car and look pretty awkward as a result. Not the usual coherent styling we've become used to.

If you look at the M3 GTS - same scenario from the unveiling, the LCi of the Coupe and then the GTS with the changes apart from the front end which could not be changed because aerodynamics would have to be reprofiled to accomodate the Lci changes. 1M has no such problems because it is an existing concept that has been devised in regards to the facelift.

The car we used for filming both in the US and Lanzarote were facelifted cars.
I am not on the Active E shoot , I am doing something for MINI in the US early Next month for next year.

Possibly as big as the 1M... It all depends on your view of MINI.

So this confirms what I suspected regarding the comments about the updated lights that Bimmerfile made back when the 1M was teased.

I just ordered an AW 135 and am not sure if I am lucky or unlucky.I seem to like the clear signal lights a lot though. Has anyone come across mods to clear those stupid orange blinkers.

I personally don't like it. I can understand that they want to keep the look the same across all models but I love the current taillights with the 3 LED stripes a lot. I don't like the headlight eye brows, it looks out of place. I wonder if they will get LED angels eyes like the E92 LCI.

It's not too bad looking, 100 miles wouldn't do it for me though I drive much further then that on a daily basis with no time to stop for a charge.

Here's the new question of the day: will they put an orange corner reflector in the new headlights for the US, or will they leave it clear and put an orange reflector on the fender? Hopefully, the latter. I like the eyebrow look with an all-clear headlight, but I imagine it'll look plain awful with an orange corner.

That is the question though: will the new tails be interchangeable with pre-LCI tails? I hope so, cuz I like 'em!

I did this on my '01 E46 M3 when the '04 E46's came out with the LED tails.

EDIT: I just noticed, it appears the amber turn signals are still bulbs and not LED. What a jip! If that's the case, I retract what I said above. Full LED or nothing.

Hmm...

Some sort of tie-in to the Countryman WRC program? If they can get the styling right, and get even half way between the power of the JCW prince motor and what the race car should have, yes, this could be big. Finally a Mini that can accelerate as good as it can handle?

Sorry for OT, but SCOTT's posts tend to make that tough to avoid.

I'm thinking Scott's referring to the MINI coupe/vert.

Sorry for going off the subject. (I like the new 135 tail lights, that's it)

Regarding the eyebrows on the headlights, it's a vast improvement over the current
baby bimmer-google-eye-look.

Maybe. I hope its more than that though because that's sort of old news at this point. Plus, although I do like where Mini is going with the new two-seaters, it would be a stretch to compare the impact of those to the 1M, IMHO. I would love to see BMW take the JCW sub brand to new heights, and the AWD Countryman chassis would seem to provide the perfect starting point.

I would ask the mods to move this part to MiniForum (and maybe they will anyway). But unfortunately bimmerpost Id's don't seem to work over there, and I haven't taken the time to register (not much Mini discussion).

We start shooting the MINI Coupe in November in time for it's Geneva 2011 launch alongside the next MINI Concept Car and yes it's going to be a car. A special road-going (or two) WRC JCW Countryman is on our minds but first we will wait to see how the Countryman performs on the rally circuit. Even though the production car has sold out in parts of Europe and Japan till early 2011.

European customers of the 1er Coupe and Cabrio will see the Life cycle Impulse , car make it's European debut in Geneva , as well as the Active E and the 1M Coupe, being showcased in Europe.
Geneva will also have the World premiere of the new BMW 6er and the "Concept" BMW M5. The M5 production launch will be at Frankfurt and the IAA next September.
