Car shut down?

2012 135i:

Strange thing happened this morning. I pulled into a parking space. I got out, wife got out and we walked away. I did not lock the car as my wife was only 15~20 ft away. I came back got in the car and turned the radio on to set a station. My wife came out and opened her door. (We both have the comfort access units. I do not believe the door was locked as we both got out and I did not lock the doors.) When my wife opened the door the car appeared to shut down. The radio stopped working. I pushed the on/off button, on the radio, but nothing happened. I tried to start the car and nothing happened. I opened my car door and the alarm went off. I then got out the comfort access device and turned the alarm off. I then started the car and all was well once again.

Any ideas?

I was told it's a software thing. It happened to me once. I was just looking for parking, driving like 5 mph, then my car suddenly shutted down. Good thing it didn't happen on the road. I haven't gone to the dealer for a software update. It never occured again.

Either a software glitch or loose battery terminal. Could be the issue resolved with the latest recall.
