I like a variety of different exhaust sounds but most 6’s don’t do it for me except VW’s VR6 with a good exhaust, Ferrari/Maserati v8’s are my favorite, Audi’s 4.2 is nice, Lamborghini v10’s are good and the only 4 I like is Subaru’s boxer (but then I guess I’m biased). This isn’t my car but I have the same setup and it sounds like this.

Doesn't surprise me considering it's still is the N54 with some tweaking. Which would be the same for the modded 135i's. Personally I think a Jb3 equipped 135i could take this, though that's not to say the 135i M won't be able to use the JB3 either.

Which makes me think if the JB3 can be used on the new M would that mean they would have an additional 30hp in the end over us?

Forced induction ///M engine

This is how a proper forced induction ///M motor should sound. The 1Mcoupe will be a nice car but it's engine does not wow me just a tuned N54/55 variant.

Here is a true forced induction ///M car ESS supercharged E-46 CSL faster around the ring in traffic than a corvette ZR1. Enjoy the sound of this bad boy.

The S-54 is M pure watch this video it's a proper ///M engine

Agree with you mate, but in truth, we're not entirely sure it will just be tuned. What if they put bigger snails on the 1///M, or different internals and massive cooling, or all of the above?

I believe in my heart of hearts that BMW wants to really get this right, hence Dr. Kay's video. This is a big move for them, and I don't think maximum profit is their goal here. They want to bring new buyers into the fold, while creating some excitement for the brand - think Integra Type R for Acura and the S2000 for Honda.

They're trying to do something special here on a limited run with small numbers. Sure, many of these are off the shelf parts, but I expect the engineers (and the new boss) at ///M to really want to get this right. Hell, they're probably stoked to not have to start off with something that weighs nearly 4000 pounds out of the gate, and to do something nostalgic - who doesn't like that high?!?!

As for the NA vs FI discussion... It's a new age and a new economy, it sucks, but c'est la vie.
