Trying to look for the lightest battery possible.
Came across these. More CCA and AH rating than a Braille 15lb battery http://www.batterytender.com/Batteri...t-Battery.html" rel="" target="_blank">http://<a href="http://www.batteryte...ttery.html</a> Does anyone know if our car system will properly accept and charge a Lithium Battery? I know I'll have to do battery registration and remap it. I can do that with the BMWhat app. So thoughts? |

The F8x BMW Lithium Battery requires a 18v charging system. Plus it needs different coding. Our cars have a 14v charging system.

Shorai lithium batteries are of the same chemistry, lithium iron phosphate, as the Deltran in the OP's post. Their (Shorai's) batteries "require a charging system output of 13.1 Volts or higher at idle, and must not exceed 15.2 volts at maximum output."

They work. Have a friend with a lithium pros battery in his 1. Super light, but too pricy for me.
