Castrol New BMW Approved Oil
Hi All
Just to share with everyone: Just found out from Castrol website, Castrol Edge Professional BMW LL01 5w-30 will be replacing the existing Castrol SLX Professional Longtec BMW LL01 5w-30. Here is the link: http://www.tds.castrol.com.au/pdf/10...85_2011_10.pdf Not sure how it will affect our cars when we bring in for warranty service. Will BMW dealership use back the oil branded oil or will they switch to the new one. |

This oil has been out for about 4+ months now. I haven't used it yet myself as I've still got 2 bottles of the old formula left. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...0&postcount=86
I'm not sure how it compares to the original formula but I'm not a fan of the new price. I've seen it for $80 for 5L! I used to pick up the original formula for $48 for 5L when it was on special. FYI, my dealership uses Shell Helix oils. Every dealership is different. |

Good to know the huge price difference but I have compared the typical table properties, not really much difference.
Just got to clarify with BMW dealership when I bring my car in for service to make sure which oil they use. Thanks anyway. Last edited by Eddie135; 01-30-2012 at 06:27 PM.. |
