"Bucking" when accelerating from a stop

Hey guys!
Just bought my 2008 135I, automatic.

When going from brake immediately to accelerator, the car will sometimes "buck" hard before accelerating. It's happened about 6 times since I bought it a couple days ago.

Is this a normal thing? known issue? Any ideas?

Thanks

No its not normal. Are you throwing a check engine light? Try to see if you are throwing any codes.

No check engine light. It looks like I found the issue.

If you are on a slight incline sometimes the hill holder brake kicks in. Then when accelerating it releases and the car lurches.

I have tested this on hills and flats and indeed it does this.

I recently got a service manual for the 3 series (since there was no 1 series, but an N54 is still an N54), and it says that this is a known issue which can be fixed with a software update, as it says in the thread spray found. So there's a potential solution for you, if you already have the post-lag software =)

Thanks, the car feels sort of clunkish and a little sloppy in shifts too.

I don't know if that's how it's supposed to be designed or if there's an issue.
