So Long Addicts!

Well, just watched my beloved 135 drive away with it's new owner. Be lying if I said I didn't have a little lump in my throat. What a great car!
And this has been a great forum! Want to thank all for the fun/answers and advise I've gotten from members over the last 9 years. I really think this group of owners is special, just like the car.
Moved on (up) to an M2, and can already tell that forum is not going to be as fun (you know how we always rolled our eyes at those M people ).
Anyway, keep the 1er alive. And continue to enjoy the cars!!

Rob

I've got the bug bad!

But I think I'm sticking with my baby.
But she's getting some augmentation. :-)

Did you put an option to buy it back in the sale for the 135i?

That's a tough question because I'm still trying to figure it out. It's definitely more distant feeling, especially at low speed. But the few times I've flogged a little (still in break in period), it seems to tighten up quite nicely. Won't really know till after break in and I can get it out on a good road.

With my e82 regards steering feel, communication and feedback, these definitely was not a question. I sensed in the first 40 seconds what it is and confirmed in 40 miles...simply an unparalled master-stroke.

It and any Lotus are The modern standards.

End of an era; no more to proclaim. Stock was noteworthy as e82 a major characteristic.

After all the knowledge adapted then incorporated from 1addicts, you should dream to experience mine now...

From a driver-feedback and joy of driving perspective, the 1M is better than the "regular" E82/E88, and the M2 is inferior to all.

From a "precision driving" perspective (which I have not done), such as on a track at high speed, I would guess that the M2 is better than all.

I like hydraulic steering, and from my perspective it's better than an iteration of electric steering I've ever experienced. On the other hand, the M2 has pretty good EPS, for what it is.

I absolutely fucking HATED the steering in the 230i I drove. I'm sure the M2 is much better than that car. Or at least it better be

I've heard the same thing on the magazine reviews of the cars. Everything I've seen says that the M2's steering is on a whole 'nother level compared to the regular 2'er

I test drove the M235i a few times and didn't like the EPS and have also heard the M2's EPS is pretty good. Will reserve judgement till I actually get behind the wheel and see for myself.

Congrats on a beautiful car OP. Clearly that's a better car than what you had. Let's see how long it takes before your first speeding citation

True that although with these BMWs, you could speed without even needing to mash the throttle!

Yep... you're driving along and look down at the speedo and the next thing you know you're going 90.
