Since I am an Investment Advisor at CIBC Wood Gundy I am eligible for a personal loan that floats at prime minus 1, so that's 4 now or something like that...at the time it was 3 percentage points less than the BMW rate.
I may or may not take the extended warranty....the most expensive thing is the brakes and rotors and I rarely use those

Do people lease cars through their own banks? I never really looked into it, and I didn't want to finance. I hate fixed monthly payments so opting for the single lease payment (i.e. pay once, bring the car back in three years) made sense for me. I fronted what I needed off my secured line of credit (at prime) and paid it off in random chunks. I really wish I did my mortgage on a line of credit. I only found out it was possible after I did it with ING. Doh!
Yeah, the warranty thing pretty much comes out to the price of a brake job. I think there's a pretty good chance that given my driving style (like an asshole, as you know ) I'm not going to make it three years. Haha... I'll have to keep the Camaro vs. 325i track racing on the low down though. |

Jeez, i never even asked...leasing is not for me...too confining since I drive so much and the car gets so much abuse. Plus I want to be open to modding if the spirit takes me there.
No, you drive nice, Tom, it's those asshole cops that lay in wait for you!!

I wonder if there's anything in the contract about what's considered an acceptable level of bunny smell for a lease return?
I'll have to try to convince the judge of that theory next time I appear in court to contest a ticket. My "it was the one armed man" defense didn't work last time. |

I finally took the poor car down to the car wash in my building Tuesday. I gave him $50 and said clean it.
Goddamn it came back nice, and the Titanium Matte wasn't even scratched! It's the first time I've let anyone else wash the car I've been so paranoid, but I finally put my fears aside and the car was getting too dirty inside (forget outside, eh?).

I've washed mine several times but never the inside... I want the new car smell to last as long as possible I guess. I gotta let go soon though, it's starting to look a bit grotty (good english expression).
The outside is a hopeless hopeless battle. Someone actually asked me what color it was it's so dirty. The roundels on the wheels and the back are completely covered. |

They told me that because of all the sensors on the brakes for DSC, etc... on the E90 they can't just change the pads they have to do the discs as well no matter what.
BTW... any of you guys had the door handle sticking problem that was discussed on the main forum? |

Hey there,
I chose not to get the warranty (extended) since I only do about 10K a year and I figured (with my sales guy concurring) that at most I would need to do the brakes once-which is approx. the cost of the warranty; so not really worth it for moi. No sticking of doors, but my rear door is a bit tougher to open/close. However, I am not going in for it -not much of an issue and I am alergic to having people touch my car at the dealer. |

Thanks. No. The only problem I had was that the X5 driver's door wouldn't close last night (frozen), and when I got it to close, it wouldn't open. Musta looked funny, guy climbing out of premium SAV's passenger door to take kids to preschool.....good thing I didn't go over a bridge into the river!

Too bad the Hyundai doesn't even have towing specs posted on their website....I can put up with a few quirks.
However must those guys driving their 1973 2002s feel.....the E90 and the X5 are amazing vehicles...I can put up with a few quirks now and then....

No chickens? You should have posted to the cribs thread!
I've got just 1 bimmer, no animals, no kids, no wife. My life suddenly feels so empty. I think a miniature donkey would make it all better again. Do chicks dig donkeys? |

Yes. I posted already to the post pics of your pets thread.
My donkey's name is Quiggley. He is hairy. He is an ass. hence, "Would you like to come over to my place and see my hairy little ass Quiggley?" Works on the chicks around here......

Haha.. I bet it does, how are the wimmins in Ste Justine de Newton anyway?
I'll have to review the condo rules and see about the donkey. I might not be the only guy in the Old Port with a BMW... but I bet I'd be the only one with a pet donkey. Girl: What the fuck, is that a donkey in the corner? Tom: Oh, yeah, don't mind him he just likes to watch. His name is Zippy. Girl: Okay, but if Zippy's going to watch it's going to cost extra. Tom: |
