Former R32 owner here too. I liked the AWD and the sound of the motor but that's it. The 135i driving experience is far more involving and rewarding.

I was holding out for the Golf R, but since it won't hit the USA till next year I gave up and went for the 135i. Can't say I have much desire to go back to VW.

I will be trading my other car for a Golf R when it comes out in the new year. I passed on the R32 as it had a DSG. The Golf R will be stick only. Should be a great car.

No to Riss Racing! Don't do it!

They are one of the lowest quality manufacturers to ever make parts for the 135.
I have their intake (I bought it used and got a good deal since it's RR) and it does exactly what it's supposed to. It makes nice sounds and looks good. I probably wouldn't mess with their exhaust pieces since I've heard of so many fitment issues, but the intake is a pretty decent piece. No fitment issues for me.

Enjoy the new car!

Does that mean we'll get to see it at the CCA GGC autocrosses?

I also had a 2008 R32 before my 135i
The things I miss are the AWD, exhaust note (had Borla catback), and the black headliner/aluminum trim
The 135i is awesome though!

Came from a MK5 GTI, also rattled till the day it was sold. Decent car but can't compare it to a 135i, especially since mine has the BMW Performance exhaust which is actually quite shocking! A definite must-have

Agree with you, I miss the exhaust note. I had a Magnaflow Sport. I will miss the AWD this winter, but for now, I must say I prefer the RWD the AWD for summer conditions.

I loved flooring it through most any corners. My R had KW V3's, whiteline bushings/ALK, upgraded mounts, upgraded swaybar, upgraded Haldex, and dunlop direzza star spec tires among other fun mods...

Once I get a track day or 2 with my 1 I will probably be able to take certain corners as fast if not faster, might need to ditch the runflats for that also

I took my R32 to the CA Speedway infield twice and once to the world-famous Laguna Seca, so much fun!

Mine had H&R coilovers, Zimmerman/Hawk brakes, Neuspeed RSB, Pirelli P Zero tires on stock wheels. Handled very well. But my stock 1er with Michelin PSS turns quicker without knowing the limit of the car yet.

R32 was a great balanced car, but the 1er is really more fun.

Yes, ditch the RFT! I did it last week and the car has so much more grip.

I am going to get rid of these RE050's probably in a few months. I am not able to find the PSS in our size through tirerack. What size did you put on your 1?

I went with 225/40 and 255/35. Doesn't look that much beefier and the added grip is phenomenal.
