No invite here, I bought my car from there 9 months ago. I wouldn't go anyway, travel and time would be prohibitive. Besides I saw the 991 at the 60th anniversary bash last year in Melbourne.

I was invited to the Sydney launches, although I'm not going. Don't really see the point if you aren't in the market for a new car. The Phillip Island trip was tempting though.

I got an invite and the fancy hardcover glossy thingo. PITA, I had to line up at my post office for the mystery package and it turned out to be Porsche junk mail.

Agree - its frustrating as all hell dealing with them.
I just want an invite to one of their much touted, but never delivered, drive days, so that I can see what all the fuss is about.

What a joke.
No parking available on the streets.
5 spots available in front of their workshop.
Wouldn't let me park there even though everyone else had arrived (thanks Qantas).
Didn't bother staying.
Porsche keeps their perfect record for being the most arrogant and poorly organized car company in town.

Not cool. For a couple of years I've been working up to checking out their dealership. Might put it off for a few more years...

I don't get it? Have you previously bought a car from them?

Nope.
I have tried to test drive 4 cars.
Cayenne Diesel
Boxster S
Boxster Spyder
997 911 Carrera S

The only one they have every been able to find a demo for is the diesel, and it was slower than the X5 and $20K more expensive.
Add to that their histopry of having lost my appointment details, lost my contact details, told me their lunch was more important than my custom (as I did not have an appointment at 2pm on a Saturday afternoon and they had an empty showroom - customers not welcome then apparently) and now this...

Are you planning on buying one or want to test drive one? There is a difference

I'd just call them and make an appointment. One thing to realise is there is a 6+ month wait on a Cayenne Diesel, they can sell more than they have allocations for.

Assuming we are talking PCentre Brisbane, I called them re a car that they had just put up on Carsales that day, 48hours later the car was financed and on a truck to Canberra. The Sales person, Jason, flew to Canberra, picked up the car from a "friendly" local non P dealer who had detailed it for them and delivered it to my house. Jason spent 2+ hours there going over the car and explaining everything, jumped in a taxi and flew back to Brisbane.

Painless, then again I never walked in off the street and perused their showroom so can't comment how things go from that perspective. TBH, I have found them to be very competitive with their pricing and easy to deal with and I love my Cayman R

Alpine, your experience was definitely different, probably due to being interstate and willing to pay on the spot (ie- no work to be done).

I've been there twice to find a Cayman S, both times they have failed to call back after telling them exactly what we were after... I gave up, most likely will buy privately or go down to the gold coast.

Gold Coast is good. They will do test drives and I've been to one of their drive days, great fun even though it was at the very ordinary Qld raceway. Been to the Brisbane shop and the experience was very different. Strange, as I think they are the same franchisee. Maybe you just don't carry yourself in that "I'm here to buy a Porsche" manner that will have them scurrying over to you. If you slink in apologetically and delicately peer through the windows of the cars whilst looking guilty they will spot you as a fake straight away.

Gazz's Methode De Faker'

Park in any spot that will make you look entitled as a VIP customer. Open the showroom door fully and stride confidently in. Don't look apprehensively at any of the salespeople, in fact ignore them completely. Proceed straight up to the car of your fancy, sit in and start playing with everything. When a salesperson arrives, as they surely will at this stage, ask if that car is available but in a different specific colour that you have in mind. Then rattle off the other cars you are thinking of - say Aston, Merc SL etc and state that it will come down to a drive in each to sway you.

Seriously though, I'm sure that they have a fairly reliable method to sort the wankers from the players and the above will surely define you as a wanker right off the bat.

Each time was to buy, and each time I bought somewhere else (both are BMWs as chance may have it).

If the Cayenne is the hard one to source, its surprising it is the only one they have been able to find a car I was allowed to drive.

Most annoying is the promise of a drive day invite when they cant let you drive one of the showroom cars, and 18 months later after two promises I still have not been invited to a drive day or been invited back to drive any of the sports cars.
The way its going I will skip on the porsche brand and keep the beemers until I can get the 458 spyder.

Jason is now at the Gold Coast (great guy), not Porsche Centre Brisbane (he was there for about a year). Susan Butler is the dealer principal for Gold Coast, she is ex BMW Melbourne, worked with Jason there, enticed him to go to the Gold Coast when she took over last year. Gold Coast had a pre lauch for 991 which I was invited to, haven't heard if they had an official launch party for the 991 (surprised if they didn't). As an owner of a 997.2 (bought from Gold Coast new 2010), I'm pretty pissed off to hear on a BMW forum about these launches - their customer service is pathetic, espescially when compared to BMW. Note: I have my name down for a 991 with PCB & GC, they both know me on a first name basis.

I went down the PC Brisbane Thursday lunch (it's just down the road from work) to check out the situation & ask some enquiring questions - they invited me on the spot when I said I didn't receive an invite to the cocktail party. Apparently they emailed out all clients - they obviously don't know who l am! (verified my email was on their database while there).
Catering was from Gambaro', champers flowed - they had 3 991's there.
