Help installing performance foot rest in 1M

Ok so I got the performance footrest (pedals were installed long time ago...)

I have been to two different BMW agencies here but the dumb assess here in Mexico have no clue on how to install the footrest-- and thus have preferred not to do it out of causing damage to the car.

Another problem concerning BMW is that the instructions do not explain how to remove original footrest.

Can someone how has done this point me in the right direction??
Some pics would be even better.

Thanks in advance...

Do you have a pic of your performance footrest? The ones I have seen are simply screwed onto the existing footrest. There is no need to remove the existing one.

Here we go

I'm sure you have to uninstall the OEM one. Otherwise it will be extremely thick (the OEM one is thick already...)

No. It screws into the top of the OEM one. That's what that cardboard template is for - to show you where to drill the pilot holes in the existing footrest.

My car is a RHD but it's the LHD footrest as they don't make an RHD one.

I had to use a fair bit of force to get it flush against the existing footrest when screwing it down but that might just be a LHD/RHD thing.

Ok thank you.

For some reason I remember have read that the original had to be taken off to install the new one.
