Never use racing brake fluid

Just re-read an article by Mike Miller, Roundel tech editor, to never use racing brake fluid in a daily driver. Essentially racing fluid is only good for racing and usually is changed before and after an event. DD's usually get their fluid changed every 2nd year. Ref: Roundel August 2012

Castrol SRF can be used for track and street. Wet boiling point is still very high unlike most racing fluids.

Not cheap, but it is the best you can get.

Quote:
CASTROL SRF

‘Typical’ New Dry Boiling Point = 310°C (590°F)
‘Wet’ E.R. (Equilibrium Reflux) Boiling Point = 270°C (518°F)

The ultimate racing brake fluid

Castrol SRF Brake Fluid's unique silicon ester technology absorbs less water than conventional glycol ether fluids and prevents the fluid's high temperature performance from deteriorating. Its wet boiling point of 270°C is vastly superior to the minimum requirement of 155°C demanded by the current US DOT 4 specification. Its ability to withstand temperatures in excess of 300°C and superior resistance to the effects of absorbed water have established Castrol SRF Brake Fluid as the world's premier fluid for the hydraulic brakes used in all forms of motorsport and racing.
Although, if the car is driven in the winter, should really use a Low Viscosity brake fluid like ATE SL.6 or Pentosin DOT4 LV. This is what our cars call for from the factory.

Garage List
Yeah, have read the warnings about not using factory equivalent LV fluid and" Duss Brothers garage" are pretty adamant about sticking with factory fluid. Seems like lots of guys use the higher temp. fluids without issue but I have no problem with the factory fluid changed yearly.
